Sweet. Yeah I'm working on getting the electrical system up to par to deal with the current LOL Also the box is under specs, so once the electrical is a little better and the box is up to spec it should pound even louder. As it is, there is MORE than enough bass to satisfy me and for daily driving it sounds very nice, allot more musical than I expected. I usually drive around with the bass knob on 0 and its still plenty of bass.

UPDATE! 12-14-09 Ok so here's an update, I got tired of looking at this sub not installed in my car, so I threw it in a pre-fabbed 15-inch ported box I had lying around, installed the SAZ-1500D and did some testing, and all I can say is after breaking the sub in a bit WOW! I'm impressed, even with the SAZ-1500D only at 50% power and the XCON in a box that's WAY smaller than optimal, this thing is a BEAST! Not to mention the SQ is impressive for such a loud sub. The whole car is literately falling apart! I wish I had a video of it today, the rear view mirror broke off the windsheild while I was demoing it for some co-workers!!!!!!!!!!!!! The windshield actually cracked right where the rear mirror was factory jb-welded on!!! So now I need a new windshield LMFAO Enjoy these pics, much more to come once I get enough money together to finish the project. Update : 12-4-2009 Everything is here besides the Sub :*( I contacted SSA and it seems the build is taking much longer than anticipated, the SSA store claims 1-week build time but im nearing 1-month now and still no Sub, I talked to a guy with SSA and he says its ready to ship but waiting for a dust cap So hopefully I get it soon, I hope its worth the wait. I will keep you guys posted when it comes in.

Post a video of it playing at high volume you usually use so we can see how the sub is moving, and listen for any possible clipping as well. I'm willing to bet everything is ok with the car besides not having enough power in the electrical to support the dimming, a 2nd battery like a kenetik HC650 would most likely fix it im willing to bet.

Here is a review I pulled off google : Price Paid: $200.00 from HH Greg Year / Model Reviewed: p3001 Summary: I like this amp.... ive ran about 3 different combos off of this amp.... at one point i had it pushing two 12 inch memphis DVC's and and audiobahn 15 and it banged.... right now i have it hooked up to a 12inch P3 rockford and it can the sub can barely handle it.... so i dont know if i just lucked out or what but the birth certificate on my amp rates it at 1137 watts and ive blown enough subs to think its true.... Strengths: lots of power.... tight hitting.... doesnt heat up.... Weaknesses: having trouble finding something other than a rockford T1 Power that i can use it to power Similar Products Used: MTX Memphis Audiobahn JL Seems that guys is pushing 1137watts! Thats definitly enough to dim lights.... I used to have a 3001 Punch that had a birthsheet of 680watts, so I'm thinking his is underrated as well. What OHM load are you running it at? That makes a big difference too, ive run mine at 1-ohm before and it pushed really well, but thats under what its rated since its 2-ohms officially.

There ya go Fogate P300-1 is a very underrated amp, I wouldn't doubt when pushing it the lights dim a little bit! I used to have a old Punch Turtle Shell amp that was VERY underrated and it made my lights dim with a 110A ALT.

I vote ported. Tune a bit lower if you can around 31-33hz and you'll be very very happy with your new set up Hmm what size enclosure do you rec. for 31-33hz? I'm trying to find the perfect size towards the smaller end of the spec to save space yet still get some output.

XCON 15' SEALED OR PORTED?
So I'm going to running the new XCON 15' D2 Subwoofer in a custom spare tire enclousure and I'm torn on SEALED OR PORTED@35hz? The car's goal is daily driver ""SQL"". SUNDOWN SAZ-1500D is the amp with MORE than enough upgraded electrical to support it.

The enclousure plans are to raise the trunk floor an inch, then convert the spare tire well into the enclosure so I can flush mount the subwoofer, so it will be firing vertical instead of horizontal. The only thing im not sure on yet is sealed or ported, if I ported it I would shoot for 35hz and port it into the passenger compartment, but I love how tight sealed sounds and this sub has the capability, so im not sure yet.

Update! Just ordered all the wiring for the project, ouch $$$$ I decided to say fuck it and run ALL 1/0 AWG Wiring and Connectors!!!! Here's whats on the way : (3) ANL 250amp Fuse Holders 1/0AWG 30ft of 1/0AWG Power Wire (4) Sets of 1/0AWG Gold Terminal Ends I'm going to do the Big3 Upgrade with 1/0AWG, The main power run from the front battery to the back with 1/0AWG and all the grounds in the trunk and wiring to the amps 1/0AWG. *1 250amp Fuse between the Battery Positive and Alternator Positive Line *1 250amp Fuse between the Battery Positive and Rear Trunk Power Wire Line *1 250amp Fuse between the Rear Trunk Kenetik HC2000 Positive Terminal and the Power Line coming from the engine bay W00t im exicted.- big three
i have a volt meter and a friend who is an electrical engineer, ill look at it tomorrow thanks for the help Has anyone thought he might be running a highly underrated amp? What amp are you running? And if it isnt underrated, maybe its bad and pulling more current then it should, I had that problem awhile back.- my amp just took a $h*t :(
Yeah he is right the fuse is just to protect the wiring and your car, because without one the power wire would of eventually caught fire and burned the car to the ground. I had a Pheniox Gold Amp shit out just like you experienced, now mind you my PG amp was over 10 years old and served a LONG time but the breaker/fuse I had saved my car before it burnt down, once my amp shorted and started smoking the breaker kicked and saved my car. Hifonics seems cheap from what I have read, how old was it? I was told my PG should of had the caps replaced at the 10 year mark.- 94 Acura Legend Build
