  1. I have an MTX Thunder 8100 mono amp that I bought new a while back and Im wondering what the REAL output of it is broken down by ohm load. Anybody ever used one of these? I had it on 2 HX2 12's but Im wondering how it would do on 2 SSA Icon 12's. Would it suffice?
  2. Well all I really need to buy are the subs and have the enclosure built. I would like to try some of the SSA subs. Like I said I have no interest in competing just want it to sound good. I can do all the labor as far as cutting the cab and the bed. Of the three SSA subs which would be the best one to go with in my situation? Im planning on basically cutting the cab/bed putting the boot in place and mounting the box in the hole. Pretty simple just making an SUV out of a truck essentially. I figure a ported box with 2 12's and the amp I already have which is a MTX 1200D would be enough for me. Just not sure on the box size or which series of SSA subs would be best.
  3. I need some pointers on how to begin my build. I have a 86 full size short bed chevy truck and there is no way I can get the kind of sound Im looking for with such little space behind the seat. I want to put the subs in the bed with a blow thru into the cab. Im not looking to compete in SPL or anything like that just want the kind of bass Im use to hearing (just sold my magnum and miss it already). Im running an Alpine CDA 9886 head unit and Kicker 3.5, 6.5 in the cab will be adding components soon. The problem Im having is Ive never tried this before and dont know what type of enclosure to use or what subs for that matter. Ive always stuck to mainstream subs like JL, Kicker and Fosgate. The more I look at the forums the more I realize that most people are using stuff Ive never heard of!! Any info I can get on this setup would be a huge help. So basicaly I need to know what amp/sub/enclosure combo and how to set the bed up and I can get started, Thanks for reading all this!! I posted this thread earlier in another section so if a mod could delete that one it would help, sorry.
