  1. I like most of what I've listened to on your site. Nice talent. I do like the old school stuff with clean clear bass notes followed and tied together with highs.
  2. I'm having issues with this kerfed enclosure I built. I have checked response on several programs and have widely varying tuning. Box outer dimensions are: 35"x10"x20" = 3.04 gross port is 5.5 x 8.5 = 46 sq"in port length is 36.6 Tunning is 45.8 Now I want to make removal able port plug. I can make a drop in plug which narrows the port to 3" but only for 20" of length. In your experience what effect will this have in tunning? Calc's for 3" for the full length end up @ 29.5. Should this work as planned.
  3. I missed Chucks review what happened? I built a kerfed port box yesterday I highly doubt I'll do it again. I broke it 4 times!
  4. Digg up 25 more dollars and get the saz 1000
  5. Hey I've purchased Zapco components for the front and coaxial for the rear. Is the sax 100d my best option for powering these? They are rated @ 80 rms. You know who extended a sale price to me? Whatcha think? I have also been looking at the cresendo audio I need help choosing an setting up these. School me please
  6. Who is the author of the cookbook?
  7. hawk I'm ordering PSP's today or tomorrow let me know if you'll need some?
  8. Yea about 1hr 15 min. I read somewhere you were having a box built? Don't do it just bring your plan and we can build it here. Back in the day I worked at a cabinet shop so my skills are pretty good. And I definitely would like a second head tuning mine.
  9. hawk I've done some work a time or two in lemoore keep me apprised on the california events if I have time and money I'll roll. There is one in ventura I think I would like to goto
  10. 1st one is a bobber. Era of style 66-69. Key notes: 34degree rake 4" in the down tubes. S&S 93" motor, dual plug high compression. 100 hp and 350lbs. Absolutely nothing extra. The tank has 80 hrs of hand work. Paint by a pastor friend of mine gold metal flake base, 3 types of lace airbrushed through and then a ruby kandy cover.

  15. Chop I've done a lot worse for less money. And I above all know what about the famous adage of the the trades "Feast or Famine," that's why I'm not still in the trades. I couldn't budget working 3 months and holding on to the money for the other 9. Despite the cut in pay it's a lot easier to work all year than to make your dough in a few months. It's Grate to provide for a family it is truly self sacrifice. Remember the verse "Man shall eat by the sweat of his brow." Congrats on the boy Steve I didn't realize you had already started on the prerequisite. Pm me your addy and I'll send ya something for your baby shower. I dumped the t-line into the van boy and it sounds GREAT! I can hardly wait to get it into the Honda but I have to work. As always keep Me and my family in your prayers. Especially me I got my SV1000s fixed it seems I have this problem with my wrist and weight transfer causing me to twist the throttle harder when the wind is pushing me back. HA ya think that will work with the popo. Welp I'm off to Long Beach. 250 mile ride and I get paid for it too.
  16. Steve what amp are you using on your front stage with the 8"s?
  17. Besides the young ones and the girls how did Steve join the team I thought people his age had to at least proven their manhood and born a few offspring?
  18. I might steve pm me. Now as for the job I wonder what position he got? ditch digger? Lawn mower? Blower man? Planter? Water boy err is that sprinkler man? Just kidding I do all of the above myself for no pay. A humble man you are. I'll toss up a few to the man for you and yours tonight. GB Soapbox
  19. rattle's got a crack problem
  20. My main concern is power handling I got all d2's so I have the option of running .5 ohm. From reading all of Jacobs post on the various forums he narrows down his range to .7 as being optimum. I don't see the 8s getting muddy, boomy or even sloppy. It's not like there is enough mass to keep the suspension moving or a week motor to cause those types of problems. I don't see any issues with your design.
  21. ME too! I want to do a double baffle with the subs recessed for all 4 using the gaskets still. Even if you recess 3/4" the subs will still be exposed. I'll get the outside measurement with the gasket on and sub screwed in tomorrow. Even though I made 3 boxes I'm not happy yet. The 3 cubes for 3 is big in my opinion. I'm going to figure out one that is .7 for each sub. But I'm probably spinning my wheels because I haven't heard any of them in the car yet. Nor on full power. But on half power 200 I can hear the bass at the mail box 8 houses down.
  22. Yes 7 and 7/16 is a snug fit. any bigger and you won't have enough meat for the screws and any smaller it won't drop in
  23. Oh and I have the following available I could just use now. All old school 92 and prior MEI 200 (fully regulated does 100 per at 2 ohm) Cadence (fully regulated does 100 per at 2 ohm) The Crunch 200 (1 ohm stable and I've ran it at .5 for ever) US amps HC 50 unregulated cheater amp stable to .5
  24. Not direct but trimmed 8 gauge wire to the push pins. Direct would be nicer though. I had purchased stinger 8guage speaker pins which are real nice the knu wire fits in perfect and is reduced to a pin that slides in to the terminal real spiffy. Problem is the pins add 1/4 inch width on both sides and then I need to 90 down to get past the double 3/4" baffle. It wouldn't fit! So I ended up notching where the terminals are and it leaks. I was like CRAP . I'll probably purchase an amp for the mids this week and really would like a sundown but I may low-ball and swap it out later. All recommendations are being considered at the present time. Pawn shop has some nice zed's for around 50. But I was looking at a 4 channel audio pipe right around 1 bill or the discus for a bill or anything else. I hate indecision but money rules this time. It's real hard for me not to just pick up a saz 125 but I know I won't be happy with just 2 channels
  25. I finally got the alt to battery 0 gauge ran. Now all I have to do is run it to the back. For what it's worth the cutout to get the sa 8's to fit is 7 7/16 inside hole to clear the speaker pins these things really need direct wiring by the time you get your wire in there and try to get it past the baffle you'll have problems!!!!!! I have to reface the horn it leaks and I buggered up the flush mount! So much for using trick 8 gauge power wire and speaker pins By the way measuring the gasket doesn't work either trust me I tried. 2 last thing to get before I do the final install. I need a saz 100d I picked up some zapco coaxial for the rear doors and some stillwater design midbase for the front now doors and I need some good tweeters. Every thing else is ready
