Since I've ended up with Hawk's sub here comes the PWK enclosure. I only hit 132.9 using Jacobs recommendations of 1.8 and one 4 inch aero. I'm going to test 2 of the 8's in the horn on the mic soon. My bet is it will be higher than the 3 in the above mentioned box. I did score extremely high for 3 8's ended up 117 on the therm in spl drive by with the mike 6 ft away. 4 15's only hit 124.6 off of 7k.

I'm feelin ya steve. This is the first time in my life on a diet. It sucks but on a liter note I have lost 19 lbs in 2 weeks.

I made my first comp today felt quite overwhelmed not knowing what was going on during my run but things settled down and I ended up placing 2nd in Amateur Street 3, and 2nd in SPL drive by 3. I meet a local competitor whom has a therm lab and a big heart. Here we go with testing. SPL classes were shallow compared to the 20 plus cars in the sq classes. I found my peak which is 54 and tried several box placements. All in all I had fun. 1st up is to build a box for the 15.

In Meca where less is more. What fusing should I drop down to on an saz 1500? A little more info for my particular install. Amps SAZ 1500 SAX 100x4 Power Stock alt 2 yellow tops for a total of 88 amp hrs Subs 3 sa 8's I would like to run in the lowest class possible

There is nothing Wrong using filters!! With this said it may not be the most economic choice; nor will it be adjustable without changing the value of the filter. With that said over the years I have collected a full range of filters and used them for short periods of time and will continue to do so in testing applications. The flexibility of some filter options is not always the best choice. For instance not every person will like the cross over points in a particular install. When the HU has easy access users will tune it to their desires. What I'm getting at is if I ran a HU with those choice both my wife and all of my teens would be fooling around with it guarantied. I do like the adjustments on my amps and they don't get fooled with easily.

IT definitely produces the lows. I ended up running 10 gauge wiring. So I had to remount the sub. I may just install some t-nuts. And some bracing I had it walking across the floor from flexing. Kind of funny to see 60lbs wiggle across the floor. It is a big box .

I did a little comparison today just farting around. 3 sa 8's vrs 1 wmd 12 both wired to 1 ohm Tested on the battery bank with car off. Saz 1500 Directly to the Zune so there was poor input voltage The 8's took this round. Definitely louder. The 12 hit lower though. No secondary adjustmetns were made to optimize anything. Just a plug and play one verses the other. I do need to rotate the 12 and secure it better I was getting a little noise from around the gasket. and I was getting a little port noise? Hawk did you ever encounter noise with this setup? The 8's box is 1.8 tuned to 32. No idea on the cubes on the slot port wmd box tunning is 30 though.

After experiencing kerfed ports I think I'm going to try Jacobs magic box trick for kerfing. Truthfully how many tries did it take? It took me like 4 different tries. I finally tried the old steamer trick and it worked without being too thin or cracking.

Well there are other things in the works, and the Icon is going through testing because it has had a long life in its current form. I was pondering keeping the current form of the Icon going as so many people love it as it is, and offer an higher power handling version (what is seen here). But Mark and I have not finalized anything yet. Wouldn't be a bad idea. Maybe follow the model that DC sound lab did with the lvl 4 and lvl4 XL Dang thats as bad as the question "Do these pants make my butt look big?"
