Hi from Bulgaria, everyone. At first I was going to buy one of the new Nightshades, but realized there will be some months till I get the money and I won't have any other sub to bang in my trunk. So I am looking for something cheap till I get the money for the NSv2. I am very tempted at the ongoing pre-order of Sundown Audio SA-8. I can get it here to BG for around the same price as Alpine Type-R for instance. My goal is a cheap sub that will bang loud and good for it's money. Sound Pressure ... around 35 Hz. What are your thoughts?

Poppycock. Two 18's can be excellent for sound quality. I would use 18's myself if I could fit them....in fact I had a pair I was planning to use but decided against it due to the amount of space they would consume. As to the original topic, I agree; Don't go ported with that amount of space. Thank for your very kind reply ! I just don't get it how two 18" ported would sound good at all freqs no matter if it is playing rap or metal.

Why do you begin with subwoofers for a SQ car? You should look for deadner first. And two 18 is too much for SQ. A ported enclosure has a peak, but SQ needs to cover all the low freqs. What about the front line ?

If I was you I would just buy two SAZ-2000D used(maybe from Jacob or db-r with warranty). Around 900-1000$ and you safe money for batteries, alternator and cables! Smart man, its not like your gonna miss out on those extra 500 watts unless you just want to deal with one amp. 500watts for 500$ And he says he is looking to get BTL's or NS. Plenty of power in 2000D. His choice.
