Gotcha, I should have mentioned it was no cranked up a lot. Extra grounds were pre-stamped 4AWG with eyelits from AutoZone, we got a crap load of them for $30. This was cheaper than another run of 0. If you have an account with a car parts store like AutoZone, you can score some sweet deals. A few of the ppl around here have salvaged chubby alts from old semis and school buses with some luck.

Ok, since it's bash the newb, allow me this lowly rebuttle. The amp is set to about 1/4 gain The woofers are American Bass XFL12D4 in customs boxes built by me and I have no clue how to fabricate an enclosure, something about laminar flow and 1782 ft per sec and 1/8th space and all that jazz. The car is running a Kinetic 2000 about 8 inches from the AQ2200. All equipment mentioned thus far is mounted to paint matched board immediatly behind the rear seat. This set-up has been like this for close to a year. There are 8 grounds under the hood. There are 8 grounds in the rear of the car, 3 involve the seatbelt bolts on the floor. There is one run of 0AWG from front to back. The rules state S Q and S P L cannot be mentioned - ever. Thus rendering all data on here objectionable. Including these videos, neither of which car is mine, or yours for that matter. So why care if someone else scrathed thier car? (PS if you do care so much, there is a Nerf football shaped crack in the passenger side door, The hood has hail damage, and the front bumper shows yellow glas, and I try not to show that side.) This car is more than likey NOT pulling more than about 120A of current at its peak. IF the amplifier WAS set to pull more current than that - the 12s would pop. The headlight do not dim. What would you change about this set-up? I got blasted for running Bass Boost, so thats off, Bass on the deck is at -6. I should change my name to Permanent Newb or soomething.

They have the same board as the American Bass VFL 400 but the VFL uses cheaper parts so the rail voltage it lower. The Hifonics can run at .5 ohm all day with a nice fat supplemental battery and chubby Big 3 without running and upgraded alternator. However, you are inclined to run a pair of them. This may require more than the above mentioned current upgrades, seeing as how you will have the potentional current draw of 500A( 250 each amp) you should look at a larger alt as well as larger batteries. You will not be wasting your hard earned dollars on these amps. The newer boards do not get as hot as the 08 series and have up-graded the boards to such a degree, the 08s and the 10s do not share the same heatsinks. Futhermore, the amplifiers efficiency has been increased to such a degree, you can run the newer model of an amplifier of the same specs, (1608 vs 1610) and see the fuse size decrease but the output remain the same. Apply this to the 2610...

I have a 100 year old recipe for Biscuits & Gravy, I modified it for use with Bob Evans Sausage, the gravy comes out so think you can eat it with a fork. I have seen on a few places here that people are noting the dif between using push teminals and a piece of 8AWG wire soldered to the tinsel leads and the ensuing point of both side of the discussion is "Well, that adds resistance" I will be posting a vid of my findings, seeing as how all talk is speculative, mine included. Testing one piece of 8AWG on a 1ohm coil - .01ohms Testing one piece of 8AWG by itself - .01ohms Testing one - Push Terminal - .02ohms Testing one + Push Terminal - .02ohms Testing one other - Push Terminal - .02ohms Further testing - I left the frame for an American Bass XFL12 D4(frame only) in the freezer for a week and its resistance reached 3.7ohms. This is not a difinitive test, the wind could have been blowing a certain direction on this day, humidity might have been above average, a bird that sat on high tension power line too long might have flown over my house, or my neighbor might have an unusually high iron content in his blood stream. Please cosider you may or may no have the same results.

OK, I just tested this and I am getting a very small difference between 8AWG wire solder to the tinsel leads and 8AWG going to the terminal and then the leads. All testing done with no coil attached.

I had two of those black and chrome, still dont know how to use them, but they did their job. That amp has a 450A draw, and as tested by a popular automotive electronics magazine with an emphasis on audio related gear, it produced 3010 watts on thier test bench. Jacks last hoora.
