No don't run one sub per amp. Just get an amp to run both. I would get a 1500w amp just to have a little more then rms.

yea the ai comps are not what really compatible to a single dr (i have one 12 ported and ai comps as well) the bass does the comps in after tweeking and tuning im not to happy with em. im thinking of doing an active set up with some other brands. that may be a better option. my ia comps are not loud compared to the sub.

Every time JL is mentioned, being overpriced isn't far behind it. If you don't like the price, don't buy it. There's a lot in today's World that is way overpriced but yet rarely stops people from buying it. i don't like the price and i didn't.......

interesting question. id thing it was for running active? from what i under stand it is running tweets on a channel and running the actual speakers on a channel. I MAY BE WRONG!but thats what i think this means.

ok i didn't think about a loose speaker wire ill look at that as well. what do you mean by speaker wire grounding out can you give me an example of this?

yea i have a ddm the sub is deff at 2 ohm. ill have to check the fuses and the grounds. i assumed this is the problem that one of the grounds may have come loose or i did not tighten one down well enough. i was embarrassed every one was talking up my system for just being one 12 then it shut off.

yea my boy has a w7 in a 2 door ranger with the suicide doors is a woodbox with fiberglass done my a respected shop in tampa. it sounds sooo sexy gets just about as loud as my deathrow but not as violent with the air flow and the w7 is what i would consider a amazing sq sub.

soo i started my truck up at the bar,dude wanted to hear the system, cranked it up played a new cd i got. so my amp went into protect. i assume i clip at 26 vol on my head unit it goes to 30. i played it at 26. played the amp at what i would play it to do a demo with out distortion (by ear)and it went into protect! never had this problem AND i just put a xs 3400 under the hood it was at 14.5ish volts no drop....sooo like any ideas why this happened anything i should check or what not?

i love jl products.....but hate the price! its like guying a 80k Hyundai...why would any one do that?

I agree with steve ppl buy the brand they like. they are all pretty much the same. I think this was made due to the skar amp deal,but a lot of ppl on here don't like the company so those people won't buy it for some reason or another.

i know this is not true, but in high school my reasoning was the amp is made by the same company, so it must be made for the sub, so it must work better together.
