Anyone know what the average turn around time is for a recone?
  3. Were in north louisiana around the ruston monroe area about an hour from shreveport.
  4. I am seriously trying to put togather a show here in louisiana. I was wondering who, if anyone would be interested in coming to show off there systems to people here in north louisisna. My cousin and I am in the process of opening a shop and most of the brands here on SSa we will be carring. There are hardly anyone here that we know of that have any of the products on SSA around here. So before we put it togather we were trying to see how many people may want to come.
  5. How can you compare a driving emergency to running out of gas? Those are two totally different situations. it was leaned towards the ability to coat a vehicle to a stop with out the engine running I don't look at a sticking throttle as a driving emergency....... it is not a check mate situation and can be dealt with quickly with the use of common sense that everyone with a drivers liscense should be able to deal with agreed So you dont think its a emergency if your driving, coming up to a stop and your throttle sticks. Plus as we all know everyone that has a drivers liscence doesnt need one. Everyone doesnt react the same in a emergency.

  7. oh the run position not just in the ignition see nobody said that. and what average person knows this Everyone should know that. I learned it in drivers education. Got to remember not all places have drivers ed some of us had to learn the old fashion way. I did at first as well, my mom took me out and told me to drive or walk home. I took drivers education to legally drive on public roads. I thought that was what you took the drivers test for, here in louisiana there arent many places to take drivers ed especially up north. Most people when I was in school got a drivers ed book, and studied and took the test. We couldnt afford to take drivers ed.

  9. it's only power assist...the stearing still works with the engine off you should try driving an old vehicle with armstrong stearing (my bad..most kids now adays have NO Idea what that is...LOL) I have got a old 1940s ford truck in the drive way already know that feeling.
  10. How will steering work if the engine is off the belt isnt' turning the pump, so how is the power steering working????Just my .02.
  11. That is crazy. Makes me miss working at my old store, thats the advantage you have when you work at a shop vs a company. Your job is fun doesnt seem much like work when your buiding stuff like that all day.
  12. Yep the very same one
  13. Bought a sheet to test it out, built my enclosure for my nightshade out of it. It worked out good. Definately have to predrill hole for this wood is more subject to splitting than regular mdf. Its a lot slicker, weight is about the same. Only thing I have to get used to is the smell. Smells like you just walked into a freshly built house. Called my wood supplier and asked him what it was used for mainly, and of course he said cabinets and countertops and doors in houses. So that explained that, anyway just as good, if not a little better than the regular mdf. Cutting it is a breeze hardly any dust at all from cutting the board. Price here in Louisiana runs about 28 bucks a sheet though and thats with my wholesale account with my wood supplier.
  14. Here is the end result of my bug build for my store here at 1507. Hope you like it taking it to a car show in the morning. Hope you guys like it. Turned out ok for spray paint. Manager decided not to pay for painting it.
  15. I have one of the 12's the best enclosure to put it in is no more than 1.5 cubic feet the like small boxes. I built one in the airspace that you are talking about 1.8 cubes and honestly it sounded horrible. For the best output put it in 1.25 after port displacement which is around 1.5 the sub has a displacement of .2 cubic feet roughly. I recently bought a night shade so I took that enclosure out of my blazer but I will go measure it and pm you the build demensions.
  16. Thanks cant wait for the nightshade v2 presale.
  17. Yea my plan is to run 2 nightshade 12s I already bought me another svr1500 just hadnt installed it yet. I am happy with it. It will look alot cleaner when I build the new enclosure.
  18. Here are a few vids I shot of the cracked night shade in action powered by my new purchased 3500. Thanks for the enclosure tip jacob sounds great. Dont beat me up on the install so busy working makeing everyone else car look good. Its just temp. anyway going to send it off for a recone soon.
  19. Anyone ever used plum ceek Mdf to build a box out of? I was thinking of trying some.
  20. 1990 pontiac grand am with kenwood excelon tape deck and changer, 2 Pioneer diamond plate 12's in a sealed box running off a kenwood excelon 401m mono amp. Did high 140s with that ole setup in the trunk.
  21. 16V batteries need to charge at 19+ volts (19.5V MAX for XS Power 16V Batteries), so charging at 14V wouldn't do anything for them. You would need to either use a charger (XSPower 1004 IntelliCharger (16V only) XSPower 1005 IntelliCharger (12V and 16V option), or have a alternator capable of charging at 19.5V. Thanks thats what I was wondering how long does the charge last if I would be usong them in my daily driver. I have a saz 3500 runnning at .5 ohm mono. So its putting out I would say around 4k I have a svr battery in the back right now a platinum 3000 but I think I need a bigger battery so I was wondering what you would recommend.
  22. I was wondering was there any big difference in charging a 16v batt. at 14v. I was thinking of buyign some 16v batteries, but I was making sure there wouldnt be any problem chaging them.
