  1. This is where I got most of my articles - Tutorials | Team Audionutz
  2. well I will use a multi-meter and adjust it to 17 volts that should be fine then especially since i wont be pushing to many amps to it. what advantages does having a higher voltage have? I know that it puts out more watts that way if getting a good supply of amps also, but is there any other benefits??
  3. ok, I will do so, there is a adjustable voltage dial on it so if it is to much i can turn it down a little bit at least. its a industrial strength power supply
  4. I was wondering if my Hifonics Brutus BXi 1610D amp can handle 18v? and if so how will it affect its sound and output? I have a 58amp continuous output switching power supply that I just bought to power it in the house, of course i'm not expecting full power, but I was just wondering how well it will handle that voltage and if it is to high the power supply is adjustable. But let me know ok, hopefully it will be better than my 12 volt 16 amp power supply that it is on right now.
  5. o ya well ya the blinking feature but all that is is a microphone, which also blinks to people talking doors closing and such I don't want that.
  6. that could kind of work, but its not proper, I have seen these neon control box that at the time where $40-$60 and let u plug in a rca cable and you could hook multiple neons to it so they would blink perfectly to the music, and so that it wouldn't blink every time a door was closed.
  7. well that shouldn't make ur neon blink unless ur voltage is dropping that much in ur remote wire.
  8. I have spent an hour on google searching trying to find a neon light controller that will flash to the music using a rca cable so the neon flashes to the music and not people talking. I have seen them before but i cannot seem to locate one now that I wan't to get one.
  9. ya, but this whole topic was about what improvements that I can do with what I already have and somehow it went elsewhere. Everyone is like replace this and that, but its my moms car so i can't custom anything, and I have no money because i'm saving for a car so I can't buy anything new.
  10. I'm not planning on buying any new speakers until I get a new car.
  11. ya, but there a ton better than my polk db 4x6's would you rather have 4x6 polk db or 6x9 polk momo
  12. true, very true. I do wish I could get a sundown amp or something as good, because when I tested the xcon 2 months ago when I first got it, I could tell the amp maxed out before the xcon did, plus I am one of those people who don't like there amp to be stressed all the time, when i bought this hifonics I ran it at 2 ohm into a 1000 watt sub and the amp always ran cool.
  13. its for mid-bass fill, the article, suggested to disconnect the tweeters, but I'm just gonna turn them down, because for the time being, a xcon with 1600 watts and polk db 40rms 4x6 front speakers at the moment won't cut it for being able to hear the voices, I would love to put my 6x9's in the front but there is no room for them except maybe the kick panel but then i'd be afraid of them getting wrecked. and thats a lot of work for something that will only be for a few months.
  14. well he really doesnt know anything about audio, sry I have been up for 2 days, to much soda, well to whoever thinks this is a bad topic i'm sorry.
  15. some people on here say I am a noob which in the grand aspect of things I guess I am, but imagine if you guys had to deal with a real noob. One of my not so close friends tried convincing me his 1000rms best buy bought alpine amp was better than my 1600rms hifonics, I know hifonics isn't the greatest but really its better than a alpine. he told me my new xcon would be louder off of his amp, I just laughed at him. He hasn't even heard the xcon yet.
  16. well for now i need the mid-bass fill until much later when i can afford good front speakers, plus i don't even know what kind of interior my next car is gonna have.
  17. so I have read a few very lengthy articles and I have learned a lot about placement, but I have read that having back speakers is harmless just as long as they are not as loud as the front speakers. I am still reading more articles but thats what I have learned so far.
  18. Just like your test for rears, you again completely missed the point. It ISN'T the speakers that make anything an SQ setup, but the installation. Exactly why your front / rear test failed. Look up cancellation, interference on wiki. Read it. Make sure it is in reference to waves. Then ask a logical question regarding the interaction of the fronts and rears WHEN THEY PLAY THE SAME FREQUENCIES. If you truly read it, I doubt you'll even need clarification, but I guess you probably won't believe it either. After all it is just simple Physics. Read the deadener page that was linked earlier as well. Hell read it 3x. Don't ask another deadening question or for clarification until you do. When you do ask, CITE what you don't understand or need more clarification on. You will be surprised at how much more helpful the answers will become when you spend 5 minutes doing some quick research first. That btw is the appropriate way to ask questions on a forum. If you really want to know how I feel, try to join www.corner-carvers.com. READ their terms and conditions. A light bulb should go off on how to actually get help on a forum. That one is by far the best run forum thread wise I have ever been on. sorry to ask, but i did look that up on wiki, i'm not sure if I was able to find what u where exactly referring to but I read about cancellation and interference, and I already knew what it had listed about cancellation and I did learn a little on interference but how does this affect the difference in sound whether you have 2-4 speakers, because as i see it the rear speakers are 8 feet away from the front speakers so wont there frequency's arrive at a different time than the front which would make phase barely matter? I know the direction the speakers are facing matter but I can't do much to this car but I will make new holes for my own car. I believe you I just don't fully understand, I don't like to do something just because people say so, I want to fully understand as you do, and wiki didn't help me much. please enlighten me, since you are much more experienced.
  19. Also A+ job on the carpet.
  20. yay Just curious but why is there a slight hump around the top plexi window? otherwise great work
  21. well I was just told this, I never saw proof, but I thought it was crazy.
  22. ya, thank god my stereo is only one xcon, otherwise i'd probably kill myself lol. Theres a guy who lives in the town next to mine who has 2 12" solo-x's professionally installed, and his ears have already bleed twice and he is only 22. Some people are a little dumb...
  23. Like how high? 170db, 180db? and has it actually happened to someone because I couldnt find anything on google about it, I could find references to it but no actual story about it.
  24. I'm sure this has been talked about in the past, I just spent 20 minutes digging on Google for it, but I couldn't find any real results. I would like to know if anyone in all of history has been killed by extreme bass caused by a sub woofer. And not a heart attack from the startle of the sudden bass but being killed by the vibration alone.
