I just got my new ssa xcon today in the mail. i hooked it up in a 3.6 cubic foot enclosure tuned to 32hz. It is only its test box until I can afford a proper enclosure. Its getting 1600rms from a hif\onics brutus amp, and this thing sounds great and goes loud, I will post up pictures and videos tomorrow once I fine tune it to the best it can get under the circumstances. I can't wait until I can get a new amp and enclosure this thing will rock. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Lol, Ya my kove, made shit come loose that was never loose before in my 95 cadillac. the only things that rattle where my brake lights and sunroof cover. I had everything else padded down.

I'm upgrading from my 11 year old kove sub, its been very really reliable, alot of people don't like kove subs, but it has been able to blow my lighter out in the front seat with just one sub, and I have beaten the s*** out of it, and it still is working like the day I got it , its up for sale also $175 enclosure included. I can't believe how old this thing is, who ever owned one of these in 1999 must of been envied by his whole town.

Well the only reason I want a nice enclosure, is because I am planning on this being my long-term subwoofer, 5-10 years unless I win the lottery or something.

I had a box that looks similiar to this one without a kerfed port made by the bst audio shop in wisconsin, and the charged $250, but audible customs is gonna build me a enclosure that is much better and cooler looking for $260.

Wow, i'm glad I picked this guy to build my enclosure now, I was talking with him a few weeks back. Now I just can't wait to get the money for it.

I would suggest upgrading the alternator first anyways, because if you put 1,2,or 3 batteries on a stock alternator its gonna wear the alternator out, so upgrade that first. If you already have a high output alternator, then i'd suggest 1-2 100ah batteries.

Really sweet, I wish my amp does that. That would be handy for me.

I thought the remote Bass knobs where to control the bass boost on the amp, if so then this knob wouldn't turn the bass down that much for the kids, and when you turn the knob up wouldn't it make it an unbalanced setup. One of the amps I own that is what it controls.

idn I have had a couple crappy amps in the past that just sounded awful, once I had this amp from china a company called tinly I think and it was horrible sounding, it was my first amp. And I was just throwing things out there, trying to get the full picture clearly.

No offense to anyone, ive never heard one. i'm just curious, but what is so great about a sundown audio amp, I have read the specs and they seam good, but there thd distortion isn't that low, and people always recommend the 1500rms version for an xcon and I always wondered why?? I have read they have plenty of raw power, but i'm the kind of guy that likes to know every detail.

A subwoofer will play anything, the only factor that changes is volume. You cannot hear anything below ~20 hz. I'm not exactly sure what your saying in your first statement there, but I know very well you can't here below 20hz, but what about the 20-30hz range that the crunch doesn't cover, and my ears don't lie when I hear a big difference in anything lower than 40hz between the crunch and hifonics.

ya, I used the crunch for my speakers, and it works great for that but the crunch amps freq response only goes down to 30hz unlike the hifonics which they go down to 5hz, I know no sub can hit that low but it doesn't hurt to have a lil headroom

um yes it did, because I tried a hifonics amp, and a crunch amp, with the very same subwoofer and wires and head unit, the only thing that changed was the amp. My old hifonics died so I used that crunch for a couple months and it didn't sound at all the same. I was using monster cables best rca wire $140, 2 gauge wire, a kenwood excelon x991 head unit, and monster speaker cable to the 15" kove sub.

I live 40 miles north of madison, its a good 2 hour drive to get to chicago.

Ok, I am in wisconsin, I have ordered many things from ups I always use ground shipping and I have seen things arrive between 2-5 days, the one time something came from california and got here in wisconsin in 2 days, I was amazed. I'm just trying to make conversation about my xcon until it arrives, I have no job and I live in a town of 721ppl so i'm bored often.

I know crunch is hifonics, but hifonics is there higher quality line aka being better sounding than crunch.

I owned a 600.4 and it has a good punch to it, but it completely lacks deep bass, if you want something that sounds good for real cheap, get a hifonics amp for the price they are good. Ive owned two of them.

It shipped yesterday night yay. So its probably leaving today, so how long do you think it will take yo get here?? I can't wait.

......... I can't wait, I hope all this waiting means there putting extra care into it, (which is probably true) its been 9 days since i ordered it and it hasn't been shipped yet.

I'm getting a 15", i am putting it in a enclosure I already have for about a month until I can get the money for the new one, search my name and you can see my post about the box I plan to build for it.
