  1. Ya, well I was used to a fully powered, and perfectly fine tuned Kove Armageddon. when cranked, you could feel your hair move in the front seat and it would blow out a lighter in the front seat with the windows closed, and all the street signs appeared to be shaking.
  2. I ordered a SSA xcon 15" dual 2ohm so once they build it I will see how it performs, and I will let you guys know what I think of it. I do have pretty high standards so if I end up thinking its awesome, everyone will, lol.
  3. Well I found the specs to my kove and i put them into WinISD and it seems to be decently flat on the response curve but anything below 40hz is just a big drop. so i know i'll be happy with this xcon
  4. WOW I had to dig alot but I found specs for the improved version my kove, and remember this is the improved version, and I typed them into WinISD and I was shocked, the response curve was horrible, yes this sub gets damn loud, but the xcon was almost completely flat, and this kove dips down so far its amazing it can sound as good as it does, This xcon is gonna be truly awesome compared to what i'm used to. the difference in 40hz and a 20 hz is a 25db drop,
  5. I did try changing the enclosure size, from anywhere between 3.6 and 4.5 and it was about the same, when I went higher I lost the flat response curve.
  6. Are your numbers 14 and 43 a typo or what are you talking about? 43 hz is where his box peaks at. i think i'll be satisfied with this subwoofer, either way I think it will be better than what I have and that what i'm aiming for.
  7. Are your numbers 14 and 43 a typo or what are you talking about?
  8. I listened to one guy who had two 10 inch kickers and he said he hit 144db's with it, and thats what i compared it to. either, way i think the ssa xcon will do the job.
  9. yes i am satisified, but now i'm gonna be broke for a month, i'm gonna have to spend all my extra money from my check on this, but it'll be worth it.
  10. thanks, ive messaged him, and I like that smiley lol.
  11. Here are the results to the SSA xCon 15" sub woofer in WinISD the enclosure is 4.0 cubic feet tuned to 28hz, I hope this helps. I noticed no one else has one out yet and these always help me greatly.
  12. How do i upload a photo to this forum??
  13. I was playing with WinISD and I have come up with that a 4 cubic foot box with a tuning of 28hz would be best for me, thank for your help i will post the response curve i got in another post so other can see and hopefully it helps them.
  14. Has anyone done a response curve on it yet?? i would love to see one.
  15. Wow I think the youtube videos themselves have me sold, thats a lot of car flex, especially with the windows down, my car only flex's with the windows closed. I think i'm gonna get one, but I still would love any more responses if you have any.
  16. well I don't mind how much power it takes. I plan on upgrading my alternator anyways.
  17. If i have to sacrifice some volume for true SQ that is ok, i'm just looking for the loudest SQ sub that still is a true SQ sub. I would think at 1700rms the ssa xcon would be able to keep up with my 1050rms kove Armageddon from 1999.
  18. so should I tune it to 28hz for good deep bass response and SQ or 26hz?
  19. well I want a good comparison. before I discovered this sub woofer i had it rounded down to the Fi Q15 but now i want to know how much better this sub is, because I have heard the Fi Q15 and the ssa icon are about the same. so I just want to be sure, and how would I contact them??
  20. so are you just trying to sell me a product or is this sub woofer as great as it seems? I can barely find any reviews and the only big review i could find had a lot of mixed responses on it.
  21. so if i get the ssa xcon 15" should I put it in its biggest recommended enclosure size with it tuned to 28hz or what do you suggest?
  22. i want a sub woofer that is at least as loud as my old sub woofer which is a Kove Armageddon that i estimate hits 145db's, and I would like it to be of great SQ, I want accurate bass for all types of music whether its techno or rock, and i want it to be able to hit really deep, i'm not asking for incredible loudness at these deep frequency's i just want to be able to easily hear them, because my kove whenever it trys to hit anything below 25hz i can't even hear it unless i really focus on it. so i just want a deep bass response down to atleas 20hz but i want it to have good SQ and have a flat response curve for anything above 28hz.
  23. I looked up the ssa xcon and I love what I see but there is very limited info out there to verify if its what i really want.
  24. thanks for the reply I will look it up. Any more responses to back him up or to suggest something else???
