  1. I went into modified 0-1000 class, and I got a 142.6db at 41hz in the passenger kick panel. I only got 3rd though.
  2. what???? more hearing loss..? lol. this xcon already hurts my ears.
  3. ok who knows then, I have heard of a some guy who has a xcon in a blazer with my same amp and he hit 143db I think I'll go check.
  4. well I know I won't even have a close chance in mod 0-1000. but I guess for the practice. Hopefully i'm not laughed at....
  5. Well i have been playing a mix of everything, from pink floyd, to lil wayne, to techno, to an occasional test tone. I turn it down every once in awhile. It has been sounding awesome so far, and gets louder every day.
  6. ya, i'm increasing in output. I'm hoping to do good at tmrw's competition. So what class should I go in if my box is 1"-2" above the window line?
  7. Is there a difference to the smells? it doesn't smell like burning, it just smells like glue. and it is only when there is a lot of air movement.
  8. But I looked it up on google and it seemed common to smell glue on new enclosures. especially when the entire inside of mine is covered in glue. Plus I could smell the glue stronger a few days ago its starting to go away now.
  9. what about the glue inside the enclosure?? its only on the deep notes when I can feel the air move do I smell the glue. The entire inside of my enclosure is carpeted. When I said I could smell it I was basically saying my subs where really starting to break in and hit deep.
  10. well explain it to me then???
  11. how is it not a good thing??? the entire inside of the box smelt like that before I even put the sub in for the first time. I was actually halfway inside the box for about 20 minutes wiring the lights.
  12. So about when you mentioned it being below the window line, it looks like it might be about a inch above the window line, is that bad???
  13. I wanna go...
  14. Ya I could probably shorten the port, But at this rate i will live with it, it is still loud and is getting louder every day as it breaks in. I will just have to wait until I can afford some better components.
  15. would there be a way to change my tuning?? without building a new box?
  16. ok, thanks for you responses. I guess i will have to invest in some good components, but that won't be for a long time.
  17. I do have fully powered polk momo 6x9's. 100rms and they get really loud and have good midbass, and they even sound like a small sub if i turn the xcon off. but the xcon is so loud i can't even notice the midbass at all from those momo's.
  18. well the enclosure is 4cf tuned to 29hz. it was built by a pro. even that it is a great box there is a really tiny leak at the seam of my top plexi window, its small, I can't feel any air moving through it but I can hear it easily if i'm within a foot of the box.
  19. Ya but I don't have much money. And my other subs could hit those notes just fine. its like there is a dead drop-off somewhere on the music, it will hit one bass note and be really loud and then it will go hit a note thats 5-10hz higher and Its really quiet. so idn..... i may be a but I do want to know why its just such a small freq.. range that it hits.
  20. Please be nice, I just want a little lower mid-bass. half of my rap songs sound better on my 12" sanyo floor speakers that are 20 years old. just because when it gets to any of the higher bass notes it goes from loud to barely can hear it. and I have the xcon set at 80hz for crossover and i have tried 90hz also, and my 6x9's are set at 50hz.
  21. Please don't bash me for this. I want to know why my ssa xcon sucks at any frequency's above 60hz. I know they are mainly meant for deep bass, but every other sub ive ever owned could hit the 60-100hz range well, even my last 1000rms 15" i used to have. I know this sub is not those subs, but why is a sub that meant for SQ not able to hit those frequency's I really like the fill in there, even that some of you may think its pointless or dumb. also to add is that better component speakers would help but it would take like 6 8" woofers to get the feel i wan't and thats way way to much money for me.
  22. oooh, I love the smell of breaking in subs today lol. I can really tell that the xcon is breaking in, it is starting to move a lot of air and is now making my doors push outwards, and I can easily smell the glue that he used on the carpet on the inside of my box. Some more breaking-in to be done later tonight. I can't wait until I can afford a sundown amp.
  23. well i'm gonna be gone for a few hours, so if anyone has any other tips let me know.
  24. I'm not going to anything regional until I get my amp and alternator upgraded. This is just for fun and to see how loud it goes. But hopefully I win :), probably not but it would be cool. the xcon is a beast of a sub.
  25. I could push it half way down??? the e-brake light comes on even if its 1/5th of the way down, so should I just put it half to the floor??
