Ya man, you gotta take off the fenders. You need to remove the trim that runs along the bottom of teh door. Pop out all the clips and slide it foward. There are 2 bolts hidden underneath it. The bumper doesnt need to come off but there are tabs that hold the fender into the bumper, dong break them off You can get close enough to the harness that the boot will still cover the wire.

If the power light isnt on then its not recieving a signall to turn it on. Maybe there is something wrong with the remote lead or its loose
