Im using 0 gauge, and the amp is running about 200 watts id say....

can you elaborate? If I remember right.... Turn the gain to maximum on the amp. Hook up the gain knob and turn it up to where the clipping indicator flashes but doesn't stay on all the time. If it flashes supposedly it's ok but if the light stays on, then the amp is clipping. SSA Member Shizzon would be the one to ask about these amps. Well i hope SSA Member Shizzon opens this thread.

My clipping light didnt turn on... nor did the power light... I wish i woulda known the amp is worth 2cents before i bought it.. I'll email him now.

What could be defective that it would cause it to have less power output?

Im running them at 1ohm.

I used the same power and ground as my PDX1000, all the connections were soild. Im runnin' on stock now, with a yellow top. I just hooked it up to see if it works.. and it was just shitty. All the settings on the h/u were on stock/normal like when i first bought it beacuse i had to disconnect the car batt.

Today i got my AQ2200 (used) and hooked it up to my dvc 4ohm(wired to 1ohm) type r's just to see how it works, it was dark out so i couldnt/didnt really have time to tune the amp correctly.. but i did do it by ear real quick., and i have to say.... i was REALLY dissapointed My PDX1000 performed/powered better.. i set the gains on that by ear, but acually sat there for about an hour listening to it and turning lil by lil. (not like i did with the AQ) My question is should i be afriad its defective? oh.. and do i HAVE to use the bass knob? - i dont like having one. Thank you dom.

Id get different drivers. The box port can be calculated with a simple formula. Box volume in cubic feet X 16 (the amount of port area in square inches per cubic feet of box volume). For example, 3.4 cuft X 16 sqin= 54.5 square inches of port area. Try to stay within 10% of this number. The port length should be 16 inches deep. This tunes the boxes to about 40 Hz. Some port lengths do not allow for 16-inch port depths without some sort of modification. The rule of thumb is not to let the end of the port get any closer to the back wall than the width of the port. So back to our example, we have an internal box depth of 12.5 inches. We need a 16-inch deep port. We will have to bend the port along the back wall to get the full port length. To calculate where to make the bend, subtract the port width from the inside box depth. 12.5 – 3.75=8.75. We must bend the port at 8.75 inches, then continue the port parallel to the back wall for an additional 7.25 (8.75+7.25=16). You now have an L shaped port totaling 16 inches in depth. Audioque.com

Im going to be doing some fiberglass work to my truck door pannels and figured i might as well get a new set of comps while im at it. I'd like my budget to be around a few hundred bucks, id like to include the amp in that budget too haha. I was thinkin' about some AQ 6.5s but to me they just dont look like they will do the job... anyone have a set? Then i was thinkin' about a set of Type R's, buutttt then again i'm not really feelin' it. So just throw some options out for me Dont forget to add the prices too! Links are great as well

I like Audioque, there customer service is great. Dj is great guy and there products are the same. Sundown is an awesome company as well dont get me wrong, but as said before you wont hear the difference between the two.. i heard/seen them both on the same sub/box/car, proformance was very good. The AQ2200 is REALLY cheaper and it's new. I'd rather have a new fresh amp then one that was blown up.. ONLY if the company rebuilt the amp i would get a fixed amp, cause itd be like new.. no? My vote - Audioque.

I install Turf, for those who dont know what that is.. its the "fake grass" on football field. I also turf homes (backyards and frontyards) ive done personal putting greens. Ive installed the football field for the Toronto Argonauts in Canada, ive worked on the Detroit Lions as well. I installed football (sports) fields for MANY Colleges and Highschools, i've been to almost every state. My hours are (seasonal) waking up at 6 in the morning start work at 7 and end at 10 11 and sometimes 12 at night. 7 days a week untill the season is over, which takes months.. I get time and a half and double time after 40 hours a week. I probably did your highschool

I think it'll be okay, like said before.. if its bad add another battery. I think you should do the BIG3 with or without voltage dropping. Good luck!
