Advice for Battery or Alternator
Sorry some how I missed your last question. I would recommend a 200amp or 250amp alternator. That will help meet the needs of your electrical system and help the voltage stay up higher.

Advice for Battery or Alternator
That is what I understood. But I see a lot of guys running 2 batts without upgraded alternator. Why ? Maybe HO alt are too expensive? (I'm sure I can't find one for my car). A lot has to do with the stock alternator. Some stock alternators are 130amps+ but some are only 60amps. If you have a good stock alternator and not a huge system, then adding batteries first makes all the sense in the world. Doing the Big3 and adding a solid battery make a big difference, but if you are putting in a big competition system then the alternator is a good start. I know a lot of customers that are running 5000watt+ systems and still running their stock alternator with a pretty good battery bank. Just depends on the person and set up.

Advice for Battery or Alternator
If you can only change out one of them, then I would go with the alternator, because if the alternator cant keep up your battery voltage is still going to drop some. A 250amp alternator for you application is $499.00 and I would go with a S3400 (same cost as the D3400 but you get posts with the S3400) at $239.00. Prices do not include shipping.

S1200 vs s3400
Anyone know? If you have a S1200 as a starting battery (1500watts) and a D1200 as a secondary battery (3000watts) you will get about 4500watts of power for the system. It is always good to have some extra battery power especially if you are down on alternator power. Ok here is a basic estimate on alternator power. I am just going to throw these numbers out there for an example. Lets say you have a 1500watt system and a 100amp alternator. You can figure about 50amps is going to your car to keep it running, so that would leave you with 50amps of power your alternator can put out. A 1500watt system is going to pull about 150amps of power, so with the 50amps the alternator can supply you are about 100amps short on power. This 100amp shortage is going to be pulled directly from your batteries, and this is why you see a voltage drop in your electrical system. If the same system had a 200amp or 250amp alternator the drop in battery voltage would be very minimal if any.

I Have a XXXXXXX watt sytem. What battery do I need?
We just released the S/D1400 this year so they were not on the list. The D1400 would be a better choice for audio and you can figure about 1500watts per battery for competition use and 3000watts per battery for daily driver use.

S1200 vs s3400
Wait a tick, do you mean buy the side-terminal adapters you sell or actually lay the battery on it's side? That sounds ludacris with a lot of other batteries but I hear you guys have cooked up something special with these, so I figured I'd ask, (about laying on side). You can lay the battery how ever you want to, except for upside down (never understood why someone would want to mount a battery upside down). Wowsers, these are special. Thanks Not special.............. just XS Power Batteries!!

S1200 vs s3400
If the height of the posts is the issue you could always mount it on its side. The S1200 would handle that system as a starting battery for most daily driver applications.

Is this the correct replacement
Should work fine!!

d5100 and d3100 enough for 2400-2600 rms ?
We do not have links to our alternators.

S1200 vs s3400
S3400 is what I would suggest.

d5100 and d3100 enough for 2400-2600 rms ?
150amp can charge the batteries if you aren't playing at full tilt all the time, but of course down the road an alternator upgrade will help.

d5100 and d3100 enough for 2400-2600 rms ?
Mechman and XS Power are both located in Knoxville, but we are two totally separate companies. As far as shipping goes it really depends on what battery you are ordering and where in Morristown you live as to which would be cheaper. If you have already used Mechman before I would just check with them and see if they are still offering free shipping.

d5100 and d3100 enough for 2400-2600 rms ?
Those batteries will give you about 7000watts of power and should keep your voltage up pretty good. If you ever decide to upgrade the alternator just let me know. We have a direct bolt on 250amp alternator for that application that can be purchased through the SSA store for $499 and it comes with a 12month manufactures warranty. It is part number 6262 and if you decide to order just shoot denim a PM and he can get it pushed through the SSA store for you.

S1200 vs s3400
The 3400 will work fine under the hood. I would suggest going with the S3400, because it comes with automotive terminals and is the same price as the D3400. Yes the wattage guide takes into account the vehicles power requirements. That is why the starting battery numbers are lower than the same battery being used as a secondary battery.

Group Buy Prices on Batteries here at SSA!!!!
Group buy ends this week. Only a couple days left. Don't be that one, a day after the group buy is over, that is complaining about needing a group buy. Get the discounts while you can.

s/d1200 vs yellowtop d34
Basically, they kick ass. Yeah pretty much, but for some reason they dont let us print that on the batteries.........lol

s/d1200 vs yellowtop d34
You will get more instantaneous power out of a XS power battery than the yellow tops. The 1200 is physically much smaller than the 1200. What does this last sentence mean? opps... the 1200 is much smaller than the yellow top it is being compared to.

Currently working on other applications. Hope to have some more released around the end of summer. Hope to have these back in stock within 30 days or so.

Recommendation Request for Battery
Your application calls for a Group 24 battery, so the D2400 would be a direct fit for your vehicle. The D2400 would give you plenty of power for your systems and room for upgrades. Not sure what optima you are asking about, but our 3400 is the same dimensions as optima group 34 battery. Our 3400 is not designed the way the optima looks, and that is one factor why our 3400 will out perform the optima red top hands down. The S3400 would also give you the power you need and is smaller than the D2400 so it would fit with no problems.

s/d1200 vs yellowtop d34
All of XS Power Batteries work as starting batteries. You don't need different color batteries or tops to do different things with our batteries. We use advanced technology in our manufacturing which allows our batteries to stand up to the many needs that our customers have. You can have a D3100 starting your car/truck one day and then powering a system the next, and then use it to weld up a race chassis if you need to.
