  1. If it sat for 3 years, all fluids need to go. Along with all belts. And expect some leaks from gaskets / seals / o-rings that could have dry rotted. Fuel that old will also give you headaches when starting.
  2. Actually you didn't read that right either. Average power is a function of TIME which means same Average power = same heat. There is no longer as that is part of the average power equation. So with a square wave and a sine wave you have the same mechanical period, same amplitude, same DEEBEEZ. For me, that had mixed results. One setup kept gaining as much as I could turn up the gain and one setup drops in score when I get above a certain clipping threshold.
  3. Both will hit harder.... Without details there is no possible answer. Try harder when formulating the question. Application details ? You want music or pure SPL ? Power available ? Space available ? Listening tastes ? The largest cone size for the W7 is 13.5 inches...
  4. mostly fan noise; I have an 80mm 50 CFM/45 dBA fan on my CPU, loud little pucker. Of course if I just upgraded the machine and got one of those low speed 120 mm CPU fans that would probably take care of things right quick Better quality case fans would help too. Best mod I ever did was the 120mm Nexus fans Low speed intake and exhaust fans should keep you cool. Make sure that cpu fan stays clear of dust. water cooling anyone?? It's oil cooling actually
  5. A bad ground problem would have been shown by voltage problems under load. NOT under a higher voltage. Had that happen to me once...measured up the voltage, 12v, turned on the amp, it went into protect and at the terminals there were 5v. Turned out to be a bad ground. Ground problems are not the culprit in this case In case of repairs, small stuff can be overlooked and cause problems later on...
  6. Predrill ftw indeed. Also drilling at an angle helps avoid splitting.
  7. Holsten time tomorrow :woot:
  8. Thanks J I was playing with one yesterday and it seems decent. I want to see what the video quality looks like on my tv. Currently I am converting HI8 video to dvd and the picture quality sucks! I'd check National Camera for refurbs. Everything is half price usually. Convenient, since I'm in a market for a camera They have a nice selection, just not the one I am looking for. I was looking at the Canon S90, $330 new is ok...it's over $600 here... Are you able to purchase it? Might be a dumb question. Budget-wise, right now, no Shipping and all that, probably yes.

  11. Probably going to run out of mat with this one..
  12. Overalls back on, time to build another flare
  13. Amusingly I thought about that clip when you guys started talking about Kobe beef
  14. 7 inches of snow over night. Shoveling was fun today and going off-road tomorrow will be even more fun. By the look of things it will snow again tonight
  15. They are just for burping. If you are playing any music, you will be much much better off with the N2's. IMO you can dial down the power quite a lot. The N2's will work well in competitions. My 2nd gen BTL 12 has served me very well at competitions...
  16. And I'm amazed again how much of a difference a bit of deadener, sealing the doors and using good baffles does for midbass. Tidied up the doors on the install where my old ed12o lives now, played a bit with the settings and sounds like a completely new install
  17. The spl season is beginning. Flare orders are slowly coming in
  18. 6BT's are beasts, some claim to run over 50psi of boost If I could a 4BT and afford the swap involved costs I'd do it in a heartbeat
  19. All the drivertrain in your trail-rig should hold up to the 454. Heck, the same drivetrain holds up to modified 6BT's and those are torque monsters. What gearbox would you use behind the 454 ?
  20. WHEEEEEE
  21. I might just go pick up the engine in the next few days. A 50mi drive. And if it proves to be a dud, it goes to scrap iron.
  22. Shit...an off-road buggy powered by that 318....
  23. Seems like I could get a free Magnum 5.2 (Dodge 318 replacement). I just need to get it out of a dude's garage. Hmmm if the thing is in working condition, a free V8 sounds cool...but if it's in bad condition it will be useless. Scrap iron maybe...
  24. We've got a good 2 inches of snow
