  1. It's priceless !
  2. Nice
  3. Power supply failure. Until you disconnect the power, it will burn and burn and burn. Had something similar happen to me once. No bass all of the sudden, saw smoke coming out and I was lucky the amp had power plugs. Pulled out the plugs, no more fire. One of my amps blew 2 output caps once, big flames, left some marks on the back of the seat but continued to play.... Now I always keep some big-arse wire cutters and at least one of the power wires accessible.
  4. Maybe Matt wants a Blues mic ? I thought about the snowball.... I meant made by Blues car audio
  5. Fark, I have some homework to finish and I'm going clubbing in about 2 hours... Zero motivation for homework...
  6. Maybe Matt wants a Blues mic ?
  7. Friends don't let friends drive GM !
  8. Moar midbass is moar better !
  9. Yes, I know. Pretty funny for me to say too much midbass However...I imagine with road noise an extra 3-5 db of midbass will be ok
  10. Forgot to ever mention that I got to fix most of my funky response problems. More volume did it. Still have an ugly ledge in front of the driver to remove, which will help even more.
  11. They'll just make you want the 8's That is tempting too but wouldn't it be too much midbass ? I have the mli's 3dB down from the Fostex's. But they mli's are 4ohm versus 8 on the SLS8. Mid location kinda brings down my efficiency...
  12. bottom !
  13. Fo sho, I'd use them as a ramp, they'd be cheaper than a lift
  14. Tempted to get a pair of SLS 6.5s...there's somebody selling a pair locally...
  15. Yeah, that's a good idea ! Either way...I need to order 20 leds and 30-40 lens and make a prototype..
  16. Damn, spent almost 2 hours drawing up a 3-d model of my future oil radiator...
  17. A plank of Cu makes the best radiator you could need. I'm sold on LED in general, but HID is easier to get in warmer color. Color temperature will be a problem.
  18. LED power decision will be made mostly on trying to obtain the same lumen figures as the big manufacturers.
  19. I HATE people with extremely bright headlights (The HID's).. especially on raised trucks... My car is low so i get these assholes headlights straight in my face and i hate it.. even when my windows are tinted at 20% Same here. My last Mustang was the worst as it was so low, I was even in direct line with several normal vehicles. It's even worse when they also have fog lights. I use the brightest I can find on my Expy. I also however use yellowish tinted lights. You can look directly at the lights on my truck and even though they are bright they don't cause pail like the cooler blue lights. I really want HID off road lights, and I NEED new headlights as mine look like milk now. I won't change though unless I can get a warmer light though. Eff HID, go LED Light bar. That's my next project. I don't want to spend $1k on a 40 inch light bar...plus I'll be able to build any width I want, any intensity, pattern etc etc. Probably won't look as nice but should perform close. Here is the one Rigid Industries makes: Wow, just about the worst factory lights I've seen. How much power will those pull? Curious as I could use something better on the snowmobile Depends on LED number and power. For a 10-inch wide one you are looking at 20 led's and 1 or 3w / led. So 20-60w You should have seem my lights on stock wiring...not much off from those.
  20. Supposed to run circles around the ZR-1 for less $$$. And looks like a fwd turd. Sure I am all for fast, but a car should stir the soul in that price range as well. If the only goal is to run circles around the ZR-1, but a 3 yr old Elise for $25k and spend $5k on some forced induction and you'll kill them both. Oh dear, ELISE = wet dream for me !
  21. No DIY examples but I've seen how these are built and have several friends which work with LED lighting.. Sourcing parts is EASY, except the radiator they need. But I'll think of something. After seeing the vid I'm SOLD on this stuff.

  23. Here are some of mine: spl setups aren't exactly pretty BTL12, doing 150.4dB dbdrag style
  24. TRUTH ! But even projectors can blind people if they aren't aimed right. Exactly, brother! Normally if someone is going to spend extra and get the projectors too I hope they plan on aiming them 90% of people don't work logically Mind you, after I upgraded my wiring it was clear that the right headlight was aimed like shit...
