  1. Ha! We've been waiting for pics of a trimmed up Yeti for how long? all in due time Ha! We've been waiting for pics of a trimmed up Yeti for how long? I have some pics saved of the non-trimmed up Yeti that's creepy
  2. Hmm, not my impression at all. Of course on axis is different than off, I'd bet someone had them installed a bit funny. x2. I have had the on-axis in the house too, comparing to the Peerless HDS's. Did not seem metallic to my ears. I hate drooling over speakers too because now I want to try out some more midranges. Or another midbass. Have not heard focal midranges. I know some home audio nuts who swear by the utopia midrange. But is it worth the price ? It's going to move slow unfortunately. Apart from the power wire, nothing is installed in the car. Car pc sounded crazy at first...but working out the costs for similar processing and features, car audio based options are expensive. Not to mention costs in case of component failures.

  15. The Subwoofer DIY Page - Port Calculations huh, the ones I wrote are from the Loudspeaker Design Cookbook. Thanks bromo I'll try those formulas. Hey I tried to play with Excel and make it calculate using those formulas but I couldn't get it to work at all, any tips? Make sure you write them right in Excel and have an example for checking.

  17. Good stuff. Some of them are so true they hurt, some are old, from around late 80's early 90's
  18. 6" Suspension lift next? It wouldn't fit in the garage after lift and bigger tyres Plus it's a dd...not sure I'd lift it Okay, 2" lift and 30" tires. That way, not too $$, could still fit in the garage, and would gain more off-road clearance, not to mention mileage would not be hurt too bad. 6" long arm with monotube shocks & sway bar quick disconnects with 32" or 33" tires Too much lift for that tire size could go with a smaller lift; depends on how much you want to cut the fenders True dat !
  19. I suspected the Trio would extend better than the SLS, so deciding between them is going to come down to how low the midranges will be able to play in the install. To be honest the Discovery series are new to me, the 4" mids definately look interesting, along with the SB Acoustics mids. I'd probably choose the Trio to make things easier in case I need it to extend higher but one thing I'm concerned about is the sloghtly lower sensitivity compared to the SLS. 84db vs 87db @ 1 watt. The midrange was a stab in the dark to be honest. You make a good point with buying a couple midranges and test That's a great mid. The Scan 12m is my favorite 4", but it breaks the bank. In the 3's I'd add the Fountek FR88 & Fostex FF85k. If only the 12m would fit the budget, it's a no-brainer to me after hearing them Narrowing down the midranges... for 3's, the Fountek is probably the choice after reading zaph's review. My friend wants to be different so as much as I like the FF85k it's not on the option list. Also something I read that sounds good, the bamboo cone Tangband w3 : Tang Band W3-1364SA for 4's... Tang band 1337 Scan Discovery 4" Thank you for the help so far guys

  21. Picture me buying a lift locally, it will never happen
