I think you can go as low as 0.25ohms / amp with those. I know some people are using them that low. 0.5ohms / amp shouldn't be a problem.

I took care of it, I washed my hands, did some chores around the house, at dinner, took a chit, and now it's gone Ha, I remember when I did a box in my Camaro. It was my first fiberglass box, so I ended up having a crap load of mat and resin on my hands. It took forever to get it off. I don't know how you guys can't get the resin off...I always work without gloves and after each batch of resin is done I wash my hands and rub the resin off with leftover carpet. Resin is easy to clean off if you don't let it cure for hours...

Updates on the FUGLY box : Put the feet on so it will stay over the sub amp. I don't care that it's going to be over the window line. Plug for the old port Flared port installed : Done with work on the actual box. Things that still need to be done : Clean up one of the flares. Bondo and sand both flares IF they are loud enough Put the Z1 together. Install 2 big batteries so I can run the Z1. Test, test, test. 3 days to go A little bit pissed because I worked out the port math from Neil's calculations and with the smallest piece of pipe it's tuned around 40hz.

Could very well be that you are bottoming out the sub. Too much power for the enclosure it is in. Going bigger isn't going to help. Cut down a little on the gain, even though it will not be as loud, you won't rip the sub apart.
