the re10 seems like a good option...if you want something else, these are just off to top of my head : Peerles sls 10 and Dayton Quattro (not sure if this is still produced)

It should be less but I never worked on RF and, like I said before, they have their own labeled parts (from what I have seen) so I can't even give you an estimate

They will probably replace all the mosfets from the power supply section (looks like that to me). Failures can be caused by a lot of things, there may be problems in the amp section too. RF has their own "labeled" parts..which is why some amp repair shops don't want to work on them

This new 3-week period for finals is ridiculous. Some classes have an insane amount of things that need to be learned / memorised in 2-3 days. And in the end the only thing we are tested for is how quick and well we can memorise things

If one of the mosfets from the second pic is charred (looks like it to me, but the picture is hideous), the amp is definately blown.

Y-splitters do not half pre-amp voltage. I don't think it can output full-range. It will probably output only the rear of the front channel.
