  1. Does this catastrophy mean I will be able to drive in the sand without going to the desert ? To answer your question : I'm ready beyotch. Bring it aaaaawwwwwwn !
  2. Better components. Funny... If someone really thinks AQ is diffrent than Hifonics, get me a schematic and we can clear it up.
  3. Thank you sir ! I appreciate the comments I forgot to mention I added too much hardener to the mixture and in a corner it got really hot and even smoked. Scared me and I had to pull it out Nothing done today except measuring the volume. Ended up at around 0.56cf. With some fill it should be good for the RL-i10
  4. All this talk about beers is increasing my appetite. Beer night tomorrow night !
  5. With god-like powers
  6. I like my Velleman for basic operations. It even helped me during amplifier testing (a bit more complex than just setting the gain:P). Get the x10 probe. You don't want to be stuck measuring 20v (or 40, can't remember) at most.
  7. I would go for 2 12's. More cone area.
  8. I'm probably going to build it up with something...maybe fiberglass...
  9. Will post more pics tomorrow It bugs me a bit that it doesn't sit flush on the plastic (4th pic from my last post)
  10. The floor is done The roof still needs to be deadened... Current progress of the enclosure :
  11. I love using duct tape to seal removable ports Anyway, did you try shortening the big port ? IMO 125 sqin is a bit on the small side for a pair of 18's
  12. I've seen idle draw between 12 amps and 0.2 amps
  13. No load = infinity. Short = 0ohms. I wonder who told you that class d amps see 0 ohms when they do not have a load on them... 3stagevtec did you try the amps in another setup ?
  14. First, a couple things about your settings. IIRC, the knobs are logarithmic, meaning the increments get larger and larger as you turn the know clockwise. If you want a specific frequency for the LPF or subsonic, use the tone you want to set it at and adjust the knob untill you see a small drop in the output. Let's say you want the subsonic at 30hz. Set it as low as possible and measure the output with a dmm. Rotate the knob untill you see a small drop in output on the dmm. I've had the same problem with setting the gains. Unfortunately I didn't find the exact cause of my problems, but it must be the fact that music is recorded below the 0dB level of the test tones. You could use a -6dB test tone to set the subwoofer amplifier in order to avoid the trouble. Look here : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...ic=4256&hl= Maybe it's going to help, maybe not. I still didn't get to the bottom of the problem.
  15. What did you use to set the gains ? Music or a test tone ? Sorry if you wrote that and I missed it.
  16. I'm baaaaaack Time to finish sound deadening the floor and build an enclosure for the Rl-i. The back panel of the enclosure is almost complete. Doesn't sit perfect on the plastic panel . The top sagged but it's already cut and ready for a repair. No pics of the enclosure...yet. At least it's better than my first box. Picked up the sound deadening today and as soon as I'm done with the fiberglass, I'm going to finish the floor.
  17. We didn't manage to go over 145.8 in testing... Tried straping the rear doors together only to loose .5 I'll call you next week (I'm going to be away all weekend) to talk a little about the tests...if that's ok with you
  18. I remember seeing a couple "abandoned" Panda's around town...I'm going to check those out next week, maybe we get lucky There is anothe local option, very similar to the Niva but I'm not sure how it will hold up to abuse.
  19. That should be massive loud
  20. Cleaner than that ? That looks a million times cleaner than my room
  21. Old 500's are expensive outside the country. Need to check out the local market on saturday I wonder if a Trabant will withstand 145+. Old mini on the other hand would be kickass. Except the panda, I think all of these cars have the same effect as the Volvo...laughter...untill it's time to meter. Keep the suggestions coming
  22. newest, I believe What size is it ? 80 gig classic, black Tempted...how much you want for it ?
  23. newest, I believe What size is it ?
  24. Tom, what generation is your Ipod ?
  25. The Volvo crapped out this weekend, coming back home. Drivetrain troubles which we probably can't fix because of the age and scarseness (sp?) of parts for the car Turning it into a trailer queen would kill all the fun but in case we won't find anything, that's what we will have to do. Right now I'm looking for suggestions on a euro-car that can do well in spl. Also, I'm not thinking about a burp-only car. We could play "music" in the Volvo and quickly tune it for burps. Not going to wall anything untill we break into the 150's. We want to stick to one 18 (my friends all compete in smaller classes so I don't want to run against them) so we need a bit of space. Fiat Panda was one of the cars I thought about but I'm open to any suggestions.
