  1. The Dave Brubeck quartet - Take five
  2. And the Audisons are hardly worth the retail price on them I haven't seen the Audison retail prices But I know what a friend payed for his VRX1.500. Ridiculous.
  3. Totally unrelated, but I wonder what the haters would have to say about the AB 500.1 and XXV Goliath
  4. Finally picked up a heatgun for $15 The rest of the weekend doesn't look too exciting...
  5. EP2500 BOOOOOOOOOO I'm using a pre-amp for the volume control. Keep an eye out on ebay for used gear. QSC/Crown is something I'd look into.
  6. There is still a tiny market for hi power SPL 10's, but the hard thing for us is we are too small to really do any specialty stuff yet. But I would be very interested in what you have in mind. As there is a possibility to do a 10" version of those 18" prototypes in the SSA section, they would be totally useless for daily to do basket and suspension limitations. My basket design was made to use an 11.1" single slug motor on a 10" subwoofer. It would have had to have been inversely mounted or mounted from the inside of the box. Traditionaly 12 spokes aren't known for their xmax clearances either. In either regard, someone should really come out with a tall basket design for a 10" woofer for extra x-max clearances. I have a few sketches (not an artist by any means.) My basket idea, while not original was a 4 spoke, much like on the ixl's, it allowed for a much larger xmax while sacrificing mounting depth (meaning it was a rather tall sub). There is a 10inch version of the basket used on the RL-S and on the Eclipse TI

  8. Focal's don't look like much on the inside Definately not worth the ridiculous prices. Especially compared to the Audison's.
  9. Not going to get you a prototype before I get one. Understood chief ! Stupid chinese buildhouses won't sell me some samples and that's why I asked I was hoping to see said prototype this week, but don't think it is going to make it. But I will keep you in the loop as to what is happening with that sub. I'm not in a hurry at all

  11. They will be built to order in 12s, 15s, and 18s when available. Sounds interesting, but the shipping weight of this beast is definately something that won't work for me Only if you would ship straight from the buildhouse Indeed, I'm going to be building them. Even the motors ?

  13. I tend to steer away from XBL2. Details ? Personal preference and I guess some what comes with it. SSA will not have an XBL2 driver. How about just an under-hung, large excursion driver, something rather efficient like a pro-audio driver? Red portion above is in the pipeline. mmm, any protos I can buy and test in the Volvo ?
  14. Infinite Baffle. The sub is mounted on a baffle and the back wave is completely isolated from the front. Imagine having 2 adiacent rooms, with the sub mounted on the wall between them. IIRC, the IB sub from FI is a Q with some modifications
  15. After hearing what a pair of cheap Pioneers can do in decent box, I'm going to say manufacturer (talking about mainstream companies) recomandations are crap

x2. Seems like a lot of power for a single BTL. Why don't you guys ask for an advice before buying ? It would save you some trouble. i made a thread on here that was completely ignored... i talked to a couple people on youtube who told me if i was going to be getting a sundown that i should get the D1 option. so that being my only refference i went with them... what do you mean "a lot of power for a single BTL" its a Hifonics Bx1605d which is like 1300rms at 1 ohm from what i have been told so at 2 its like what? 800? Most of the users here think that if one is going to get himself into such a system, the person should know that a 1 ohm stable amp will need a dual 2 sub Sorry, I did not notice the thread. I was talking about the 3000D when I said it's too much power. You can set the gains lower and you shouldn't have any trouble What electrical upgrades do you have in mind ?
  17. Even more would be better I get a very tiny amount of chuffing with 100sqin on the xxx.

I would get the Kicker If the budget allows, a Sundown SAE 1000D is a nice option.
  23. Speed demon !
