  1. I almost got knocked out by the electrons falling from a power cord above my head
  2. Because you downgraded in power. I would've kept the kx850.4
  3. No bass in the house FTL! Bass is overrated, midbass however isn't. Ca18's in sealed boxes = lacking a bit of midbass Also, no money for plywood to build a pair of ported bookshelfs:( I'm dying to hear them ported
  4. A friend of mine switched from hertz 3-way to a seas L22 + Peerles 3" mid + LPG 26nfa. Very nice midrange response out of the mids
  5. I've had 2 5000.1's and 2 500.1's in my hands and opened both models. Same amp. If you take a better look at the guts you can see it's the same thing. But ehhh, what do I know
  6. There are only minor diffrences between the 5000.1 and the 500.1.
  7. No bass in the house FTL!
  8. Totally horrible day. Waiting time for parts for the home amp is around 1 week Found out I can't register the Jeep until July 1st :(
  9. I think I'm done with everything No school next week (Easter).
  10. Yes. I believe the sets you listed in the poll have a 6.5" mid.
  11. Finally payed the pre-amp. Delivery date is around may 2nd
  12. Hmmm, the sub amp blew today. Not sure why it crapped out on me...Oh well, at least it's cheap to fix
  13. Each passive crossover set is designed to work for a specific pair of speakers because diffrent speakers need diffrent crossover frequencies. You can use it with other speakers, but they will not perform as good as possible. I believe "IN" is pretty basic. It's the input. You connect the mid-bass to the "WF" terminal. You connect the tweeter to the "TW" terminal. the -3dB terminal is used for the tweeter. You connect the positive wire either to the TW+ terminal or to the -3dB terminal. The latter terminal is used to provide a lower level for the tweeter in case it's too loud for your tastes.
  14. Why not go ditch the 2-way component + 8" midbass idea and go with 8" + 3-4" + tweeter ? Better midrage capability from a smaller driver compared to the 6.5's in the component set.
  15. SPL with an IB sub ? Meh.
  16. BFH of FS Thread
  17. Awww
  18. Don't try to appose us !
  19. Infinite Baffle wall ? I think you are confusing some terms...

  21. Too bad, best $10 I have ever spent. Sounds as good as my M-audio card. I'm still thankful I could get my hands on one :drink40:
  22. You be welcome to stay here Jon
  23. If you won't run it a long time with the engine off, I think it's going to be ok for 4kw.
