Got to listen today to a very cool system : IVA d 100 + H701 Seas L18, Peerles V-line 3"mids and lpg 26nfa JL 13w7 Audison amps. Absolutely lovely. Makes me want to go 3-way active

Ran today with a half-dead battery and managed to score a 142.3 Yesterday we had 2 batteries. Oh well, it's time to start saving up for a big deep cycle

Yes, I've done that too. And don't worry, this was just for fun 05 xxx 18, 8 cubes @ 32 hz (this was the daily tune...we've changed the port for 45 hz now) and a whimpy Ground Zero amp (around 1.8kw). I think I used a 38Hz tone. The car was quite a crowd pleaser and the fun part was nobody at the comp played music. Today was just the warm-up and test session so we didn't care too much about the batteries. The doors flexed like hell. We tied them up today. Also duct taped the door seams. I hope we didn't shoot ourselfes in the leg with what we did to the car today...

?????? Unless the power applied to each coil was far from the same, it will not still play. The magnetic forces of each coil cancel, and it will not do anything to the cone. . . In my case it was 1 of 4 subs in a common chamber that was wired backwards (but only one of the voice coils of the two was wired backwards. The sub literally ripped the surround, the dust cap came off etc... And this was on a low power substage (120 watts rms per sub). That seems very weird... To my understanding : Both coils are on the same former and if one plays out of phase, the magnetic forces will cancel each other out. I don't think there is a chance you could do mechanical damage that way. Your case was quite a bit diffrent. 1 of 4 subs wired out of phase, sharing one chamber is a whole diffrent story. The one you wired wrong acted like a PR. With 3 subs moving it, mechanical damage was a piece of cake

I'm with you on the turbo diesels. Good performance and decent fuel consumption compared to petrol. Lots of cars sold in western europe are diesels. Hydrogen sounds like a nice option too but refuelling would be a bit tricky for a few years.

That is far far too much processing you need for a set of components and a pair of sub amps. Basic LPF and HPF on a head unit is enough. You say you've bridged the amp for the components. Why not run it in 4 channel mode and do a 2-way active setup in front ? And use a head unit capable of that ?

But in all seriousness... I think it looks ok next to big cars

My sort of standard menu reading trick, what is this I haven't heard of it, I'll take it. I always love the outcome of that method

Very nice looking setup Good job. Although I'm sure the 97+ is diffrent from mine, where did you find a place to run wired through the firewall ? For the life of me, I couldn't find a single hole to run them though and ran them under the car ziptied to the brake line.

for shops selling a whole sheet of mdf at half the price because it had some chipping on the edges
