  4. ordering deadening tomorrow (only for all the 4 doors atm) hopefully i can prepare the doors before my mids arrive and compare "stock" doors to deadened doors with the stock speakers
  5. "welding wire - a legend in sound" cheap, yet flexible
  6. decided to run all the wires before fabricating the brackets. space is very tight behind the head unit and i hope i can arrange the RCA's by pulling them lightly while pushing the head unit in the dash... 6 RCA cable's running on the passenger side...these were a steal, at 50$ for 90ft i still need to solder the plugs on each end and arrange them under the carpet
  7. finally done with my exams and i can start work on the car. objectives : a "budget" active system as stealthy as possible nothing much at first. progress is very slow because of some family "issues" keeping me away... first up, mounting the head unit (alpine 9813 i found locally) : dash ripped apart, so i can fabricate some brackets to hold the hu in place head unit running the stock speakers...just a quick test before the end of the day
  8. taking care of grandpa wouldn't be such a pita if the house would be in an area where there is electricity we have a power generator, but can't let it run all the time.
  9. ok, so generic radioshack RCA connects would work for this application? What's inside an RCA cable? Is it just one wire for each + and - ? -John this is what's inside an rca plug.
  10. yeah I got the special edition one and it came with the case. I think it was the same price too -John that's the exact one i'm getting
  11. gorilla pimpin is the master of all subs. he knows everything and played with pretty much anything on the market. /sarcasm

  15. looks sweet
  16. got 1/0 today....50$ for 15 ft seems like a good deal...
  17. can't wait for my mli's to arrive and start chopping the door panels i hope it's going to be easier to work on the doors compared to the dash.
  18. the jeep is a bitch to work on, audio-wise i had to ghetto it and cut a hole through the glove box to run the rca's...i'm not sure if the hu will sit nicely on the dash.. guess that's what i get if i want an active front stage.
  19. hey guys
  20. dem fi'z can flex ne car
  21. 'night hop
  22. some self proclamed experts over here are just plain idiots : "Alpine hasn't made anything worth the money" "Alpine has a real nasty sound"
  23. i thought system = bass ?
  24. wired up the 9813 today...only on the stock speakers tough. no rca's untill i make a mounting bracket for it. i'm not sure HOW i'm going to fit so much wiring behind the dash. there's so little room
