  1. I'm going on Sunday to a small powerlifting "competition" held by the gym. Any pro tips apart from plenty of warm-up, good form and focus?
  2. Tan seats and all black interior?
  3. Zoom ZoomZ!! Now we need to talk Sean into getting a Mazda to tool around on. Zoom Zoom ! ! ! Leaving Monday evening for Germany to pick it up. It's going to be a project since it's been sitting for a while. Needs all maintenance done, fixing some rust on the rockers (seller sent me detailed pics), interior detailing and new seats, as current ones are beige on a black interior. Post photos please. Dunno how I forgot to put the link..Pics from the seller: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e6a9eosftjwzubf/_TsZDfv5eg
  4. Ugh Land Rovers... I have to say, the Jeep gearbox is smooth as butter. With a short shift it would be perfect.
  5. Deep down inside I'm scared. I've NEVER owned a gas engined car and I'm going with my backpack full of tools, just in case. So if poopie hits the fan...let's hope it doesn't.
  6. And come serious winter I need to have the Jeep in tip-top shape, 2 skiing trips outside the country are in the plans
  7. I remember reading about a guy who got rhabdomyoysis after P90X training, it's no joking matter.
  8. All the work needed is definitely not another $1k, which is the difference to one in supposedly good condition. 2 hardtops lined up on ebay, close to the car and the car has all the mounting points so I have to win one and bring it back. We're going on an adventure

  10. The seller accepted my offer. Now I need to book bus tickets and win the hardtop auction so I can get the hardtop too.
  11. And if there's something I don't like, it's thick ankles.
  12. Yeah, the redhead is nice. Still has strong, thick legs, or so it seems.
  13. First one looks like she got implants
  14. Apart from that rust it's checks the list: 94, 1.8, low-ish mileage. There also is the risk of something acting up on the way back but that's valid for any car.
  15. Looks like the problem with the Miata is a cracked hose on the intake, not a plug lead. Hmm, rust on the front fenders, rest is fine. The seller and I am $150 apart, if I don't get a positive answer on my offer I'll add $75, in hopes he'll take it.
  16. Absolute win. I'm giving it a try Sunday, since I never even tested my hammock
  17. This one is 700 miles away. If it were 200 miles away, different story.
  18. FUck'em all, I'm going to cut some wood and zone out.
  19. True, true. Until I talk to him over the phone I can't say for sure what's what. Right now I'm thinking that driving there and back with the Jeep costs as much as the one-way bus ticket. But taking it back home on a trailer won't happen unless I can test drive it first.
  20. Yeah...I can use the problem to my advantage when negotiating, he said he'll lower the price even more. Worst case, there's another Miata 3 hours and the guy answered his phone. As long as I can contact the candle guy it's all good.
  21. The wire going to the candle is damaged as per the seller's email. By some google translate reasoning I assume candle = spark plug, so a damaged spark plug lead.
  22. Fucking people selling cars. I expected better when dealing with private sellers instead of dealers. Was I wrong... Yesterday's Miata supposedly wasn't driven in some time and the engine stalled after running a bit. Then after a restart it ran without problems. And now the guy won't answer his phone so I can ask some other details.
  23. Seth, thanks for the Can Bus link. I need to get up to speed with it, if only for research purposes.
  24. Thank you. It sounds more like "oh shit I hope everything goes as planned". And if it does, awesomesauce.
  25. If I can get my ducks in a row I'll bring the Mazda back with a hardtop. Found 2 hardtops for sale close to the car (within 160 miles), I need to talk to the car's seller to have the hardtop latches shipped to him. So I'd pick up the car, install side latches, drive to get the hardtop, install hardtop and get back home. *fingers crossed it all works out as expected* This would be my greatest logistical accomplishment so far.
