Welcome to the IHoP v.2
6.5" was to big for his lathe? Really?????? It is too big for mine. 6" baby latheI probably could have gotten away with 6", the stock piece was an 8" square though. This made me think seriously about buying a lathe

Yeah and he couldn't say it when the steel got to him, I had to have my shit delayed a day.

The steel is already at another guy, should be ready tomorrow. I need 2 6.5" diameter rings, with a 3" hole in the middle and a 4 inch disk set back 1/8". Material thickness 3/8".

Muthafucking people who own lathes. I get the steel for my brake brackets to a guy, he says they're going to be ready by 6PM. I change my schedule so that I'm free after 7PM to work on the car and when dad goes to pick up the parts the idiot told him they won't fit his lathe. Super pissed and now all I can do to save the day is tutor some math. I HATE tutoring for free, especially since it's like fighting wind mills.

HOLY big frame. And i'm 5'11" but i like not having a foot tall seatpost ...but it's a Mt. Bike. Just has a SUPER relaxed riding position. For going 10 hours at a pop great, but not so much for aggressive riding. I used to run a 10" drop from seat to bars for my tree banging bike. Now that I am older I'd probably limit it to 5-6". My road bike which is SUPER relaxed still has a 3" drop.Yes higher bars is more "comfortable" and I always preach comfort, but if you aren't one to lolligag at 5mph something more aggressive will do you well. *I would also NEVER ride a Mt. Bike with such a short seat post. I value my balls WAY too much. Plenty of ball clearance in case something happens, it's already tested I'll change the frame in due time, the angle probably makes it look bigger than it is.

A bit of thinking to make the bracket, it's going to be simple and effective. I need to buy steel and take it to a machine shop to build 2 rings which fit over the axle end flanges. 3/8" thick bracket should keep the caliper in place. Handbrake cables need a very slight mod, other than that they fit like a glove. It clears the ABS sensor, the wheel, everything, so far so good.

Mutha. Fucking. Wind. Went for a 15 mile ride today and the wind killed me. I hit a jump going downhill and drifted to one side because of side wind, pretty fun actually

Went for a ride in town with the trail tires. 1. They roll just as fast as the cheap Chinese crap I run as road tires 2. 1.95 has a ton more volume than 1.75 and I now float over small bumps on the road. Should be comfy off-road. 3. They are light, lifting the front for hopping over something is so much easier now.

That's how I usually walk, I hated waiting for the bus in the neighborhood and power walked 15 minutes to a busier station.

Adrian, I bet your diet consisted of 2x (at least) of the veggies of a SAD (Standard American Diet) prior to tweaking. Probably my summer diet did, since I ate a pound of tomatoes per day I eat more veggies now and I'm going to get a blender since I have a weird craving for veggie / fruit smoothies. Nowadays I eat at around 10 PM and if I don't go to bed before 12 AM, I get hungry again

I'm lucky with the gym, just looked at my belt and I dropped almost 4 inches since I started working out with small changes in the diet (and eating way more than before).

Bought bike tires today, spent $50 tubes included. Front: Rear: Each one weighs in at around 550 grams, foldable. I'm shocked I found them so cheap, I expected wire beads. 26 x 1.95. Really curious to mount them up tomorrow.

This whole long distance relationship thing is not for me. Especially with slow communication.

Damn right, i've been on the edge because of the gf, not seeing her except on skype for 3 months, when she's not out and now her phone supposedly crapped up. 2 weeks until i go visit her though. Nothing do do at work gives me too much time to think. I hate this bad streak

A foot long pipe over the handle can be a beautiful thing. Yep. I have a 90 degree solid 1/2" socket drive and that thing has seen big torque on backhoe nuts and bolts.

Apart from the gray hair, I think dad would be more suited for something like that. He even has a Stihl chainsaw

What do you mean by gravel & dirt?Generally speaking completely smooth tires have the most traction. Completely diffeent than cars. Although when you have really loose shit that changes. The trails here are in the woods and on fields. Dirt roads, lose dirt over solid dirt, lose gravel, even sand at some point. I'd say 50% of the surfaces are like in Seth's pictures. I wouldn't call the surfaces really lose. With my current tires, on off-camber sections I'm sliding down, downhill I don't have enough braking confidence (kool stops are the bomb) and uphill I have to stay seated for grip and on corners they don't give me any sense of security. Last week I ran into some muddy climbs and the rear slick was worthless. In the winter it was enough to get me by on straights but worthless on any sort of slope. I'm looking at this: 2.1 tire should also be a bit softer on the bumps than a 1.75
