  1. Has anyone ever put an center channel in a late 90s model Chevy / GMC ??? Truck or SUV (same dash literally where the defroster vents are concerned) ... I know there will be ALOT of work to go into this ... most likely will never happen, but, you never know... I'm not really concerned about it helping or hurting my stage and image at this time ... I'm just interested to see if it has been done ... I'm considering either a 5.25 or 6.5 driver (full range) ... Thanks in advance ...
  2. There is a Black one near my house for 4000 ... wish I could get it ... Yes, I like it !!! I don't care for the rims either ... just my suggestion ...
  3. doesn't really matter what size you cut that hole ... without proper water protectioon, you are wasting your time ... You might want to measure that ALOT closer ... from the bottom of your lowest point of your cab to the highest point of your cab ... might not be 24 inches tall ( we are talking 2 ft high there bro) ... My blow thru opening is only 12.5 inches tall ... and a VERY tight fit ... I'm talking tighter than Dick's hatband here ... And not sure how the port will perform with the 24 inches being the width ...
  4. 1. you have a bed cover to protect the enclosure / equipment ?? 2. You have acess to the equipment to cut the metal ?? Parents going to let you cut a large hole in the cab / bed ?? 3. make sure you can locate the proper accordian boot to go between the cab and bed ... just a few suggestions here bro ...
  5. What type of truck do you have ?? are you talking about the enclosure being in the bed and do sort of a cut through ??
  6. What is your plans for mids and highs ??
  7. Awesome Vid Bro !!!
  8. Welcome to SSA !!!
  9. WOW !!! dats loud !!! Congrats on the 60 !!!
  10. what seems to be the issue with the midbass? can you be more specific? I know as it's been said, it isn't much to go by for just youtube videos but.. here they are playing la roux without any tweets at all and here playing ghettoblaster on all levels, sub/mid/high http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LtATGtxHXI&feature=related now the first video is from singaboy, who is the same guy who had the big lms 18s in the eclipse ( most watched tc vid on youtube ) and he is a big SQ/tc guy and he recommended them and said they have a wide range and to not overlook them. I again, know that you can't really go by youtube videos alone.. but everyone who has posted videos about them or talked about them only has positive things to say about their range so I have to at least try them, they weren't that costly for the 8 that I have now regardless. I have no problems there sir ... That midbass sounded AWESOME !!! Especially the one playing in the cardboard enclosure !!! What was that thing tuned to ??
  11. I'm just thinking that it's going to be a ear piercing system with NO midbass ... I just do not think EQing is going to help anywhere ... This might be one system that the upper mids and highs WILL overpower the subs ...
  12. i'm just watching and learning ... nothing more ...
  13. 2 15s standing up with the port on the drivers side looks Awesome to me ... 1/4 wave wall ... tuned to or about 54 htz would rock the block down ... But I'm thinking you are going to need ALOT more battery / amp power ... Just my suggestion there bro ... Best of luck to ya !!!
  14. ... Welcome to SSA !!!
  15. Awesome Pics !!!! Very nice setup !!!
  16. By any chance you planning on making this event ??? I you are, let me know so we can meet up ... Chillaxin' in Jackson ... 08/20/11 ... start time 2:00 pm ... at the trade mart center ... USACI Mississippi State Regionals ...
  17. Pics of enclosure would help with this ...
  18. Wood ... Spare mdf
  19. Tuning an enclosure low does not necessarily mean its being tuned for sound quality ... That large of a enclosure with a low tuned port may make the enclosure "unload" at low frequencies for a high spl reading ... My enclosure was built to minimum space allowed for each sub ... Then added port for a flat response low tuning ... 1.8 cu ft with 40 in of port, 4 in pvc (I think) ... There a lot more to it but that's the basic principle ... Just my suggestion here sir ... Hope this helps some ... Thanks, Randal ...
