I've tried to explain everything about my truck. You are correct. Installation is 50% and equipment is 50%. That myth about rear speakers is something like you said in another post about 12s not sounding better than 15s, or 6 1/2s can't be made to sound better than 8s. Anything is possible sir if the installation is correct. Installation and Equipment can not work without the other. The guys that helped me are proven to be the best in the competition world. Mulitple time world champions. They know what it takes to win. We've proven that. Impious made alot of sence in his post and I very much thanked him for that. That man knows his shit !!! Alot of people want good sound. ALOT of people want to be the best in car audio. When you pull up into a parking lot, you want to have the baddest ass system there !!! I only give suggestions that I use myself to be the best in my game. They are teaching me what it takes to win. Compared to amps today, Linear Power is not expensive. Just very good electronics and have a VERY long use life. As for BluesCarAudio, well, the car audio world is in for a shock.- ChicagoFans box 4 SA8s i his Escape
aawesome project ...- NEED AN AMP TO COMPLETE MY INSTALL.
www.linearpower.com does amp repairs if interested.- Hi there!
welcome ... awesome setup ...- 4 Fi Audio IB3 18's walled off 15Hz tune in a VAN BUILD LOG
This should be good !!!- Two-way active front stage
Most people get into car audio for 2 main reasons 1. sound good and show off. 2. BE THE BEST IN THE PARKING LOT !!! Am I wrong? Impious explained my setup in detail better than I ever could. He understands how a Competitor thinks. You either be the best on the street / competition or you go home. Winning at the largest audio comptition in the united states should be enough creditals for anyone. (except you I guess) NCSU ECE I apologise for the jump on your thread. You asked about kick pannels and tweets at the start and I just wanted to share my experience. I hope you get things worked out.- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
Wow M5, I wouldn't have an attitude if you would quit talking negative all the time. I do have a few questions for you though, Do you compete? Have you ever been to a World Finals event?? Have you ever been on stage with some of the best competitors in the world? Do you know what its like for your "under $4000.00" systen actually beat some of the best competitors in the business? Has a person on your team set a World Record number in spl competition? Can your system play notes under 25 htz? I can answer yes to all of these questions. Can you?- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
Denim, Robert Rayfield / TipsInc. is the person in charge of Linear Power / BluesCarAudio. His info is on my signature. Ray and Mike designed my front stage and scores GREAT in competition. send me a pm with your number and I'll give it to ray and tell you bout my rear speakers. I'm just not allowed to give out the info on the design yet.- Two-way active front stage
My stage scored PERFECT in USACI World Finals M5 !!! IF that's not good enough for you than OH WELL. STOP CUSSING ABOUT EVERYTHING I SAY PLEASE. There would be ALOT of fiberglass work needed to install horns in that vehicle. He asked about kick pannels and I gave him a suggestion. Thats all.- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
Please keep in mind M5 that I am a competitor this year (truck broke or not). If I give off all my secrets to this truck. I might get my butt handed to me in competition. I would like to win a few more times. According to my scoresheet from last years world finals, My front stage was spot on the way it should be. That part will not be changed. I'm just trying to score better points on installation. My whole concept to this truck is to be very competitive with NO processors and minimal sound dampining. It feels very good to beat out those EXPENSIVE systems.- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
I agree with ya on the dash part. I use a fluffy towell during competition in the middle of the dash to "trap" the singer. I have my tweeters out of phase with my 6 1/2s. All of that part was worked out by Ray. My rear speakers will suprise you if set in my truck. Its not set up the way you think. I thought that sq_mgb explained that.- ROE's Build
Oh yea, I think I'm gonna like this one. I used pvc in my enclosure too.- Two-way active front stage
Please take a look at my build log. Your truck should be close to mine. I use A-pillars and kick pannels. I think you would be pleased with the set up I use. Ceck it out and let me know what you think. This setup in proven for Sound Quality. You can tell by the win status on my signature. ...- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
I found them ... These pics are my engine now. I said earlier that I'm getting more cables made. I'll post the finished product when I can. My water situation kinda put a halt to things. I want to put some hotrod stuff on it later. (if I can talk the wife out of the money)- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
Inpious, The guys the helped me out are Robert Rafield, Mike Flannagan, Eddie Hill, TJ Lacharite, and Jimmy Walker (thunder) helped me out on those nights. The shop better known as Ultimate Autosound / Tips inc.- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
Yea, we are going to build the kick pannels today (I hope). The will be done just like the other ones. I May try to relocate the E-Brake on the drivers side. It was too much of a headache last time.- 0 gauge wire
Local welding supply house. They are usually great at putting on those connectors too. I've got over 100ft and need more.- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
This is what we did ... We bought Crown and coke. Made drinks. got relaxed. set the speakers in a position, listened, moved them, listened. This went on and on until everyone knew we had the perfect sound. This went on for hours. Staging a vehicle takes ALOT of time, patience, trial and error. (and alot of whiskey). We said we were going to install the speakers where the sounded best, no matter where the location. It turned out awesome. I just hope I can get her back together before the shows. Thank you all.- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
Impious, Now this is the kind of forum I like here. thank you. Thats information on car audio I think everyone should read. Guess I just don't know how to put things into words like that. I gonna try to go back to the way it was but with minor changes and better looks. Just wish I had more money. Theres alot I want to do to this thing (rebuilds and upgrades) Just don't know where to start. SQ_MGB ... Keep your screwdrivers off my ride .... lmao .... I have 2 more Cables to get before the engine comp. is done. I'm running 2awg welding cable throughout front to rear. Some of it is done. I'll post updated pics later when I get back on track.- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
Everything in the headunit is set flat. Basic output, enexpensive unit that works great for my application. The PA2 is set flat also. there is no equalization in this system. Everything should run as it was ment to sound from the recording. The X03 is primarily used for the sub amp. My 502HV simply will not work properly without it. The compontnents in the As and kicks ... they are pretty much on their own.- Cablguy184's 97 Chevy Silverado
These pics show the As and kicks that are out now. You can see the Headunit, Eq, and Crossover. You would be suprised as to how muck work to get those things into the dash. The work was worth it.
