You can certainly remove fuses to keep the amp from turning on, but I'm sure the amp can detect if there is no load.

Does her truck has any additional electrical devices? If so, how much approx how much amperage do you think they are requiring.

Measuring the voltage when the vehicle is idling could shed some light as to if the the alternator is doing it's job. Autozone/Checkers can also do a simple test to make sure the alt is working. You can also use a dmm to see if something is draining the battery while the vehicle is off.

Power handling may increase in a sealed enclosure, but don't be afraid to use less power then your amplifier is capable of. Head room is your friend.

but going through AUX? .. Apple is known for not having adequate output to really support your formats(lossy) but it will still be better than most mp3... I use Cowon players if I use anything or CDs. As to using the AUX, I'm not sure what effect that would have. If I used a dock connector to the headunit, the signal is still being transferred in an analog signal through the rcas?

I tend to stick with lossless formats, such as flac, and let itunes convert it to aac (sp?) for the Ipad. Definitely better then mp3s.

I believe the pcb is mounted to the black case, and the gold heatsink just mounts over. So you should be able to pull off the heatsink, do what you will, and pop it back in.

I need to talk you into running BOINC in the background, help out some good scientific causes. I use to have multiple computers generating rainbow tables for years. Just installed Boinc. Still have to restart the computer for it to take into effect. Is there some particular cause I should be set to?
