  1. A better description of the sound would help. What type of enclosure? Ported, tuning? Whats your ssf set to on your amp? How'd you set the ssf? Is it on one specific song, or happening on various songs?
  2. All amps are going to draw more current when the voltage is lower. Rudimentary example: Target output is 1000watts. V*A=Watts 14.4v*70a = ~1000watts 12v*83a = ~1000watts 10v*100a = 1000watts Something about the way JL describes their R.I.P.S power supply made me think it draws more than most "standard" power supplies... Good read: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/diyma-sq-forum-technical-advanced/89221-how-does-rips-jl-audio-work.html

You can try giving your batteries a good charge and see if that helps stiffen the float voltage, and/or you need more battery reserve IF you want better voltage at idle.
  4. It's a Transmission line box center area isnt needed for anything so it was dubbed dead space But a Transmission line would require the same port width throughout the entire box. According to your specs, it varies by a few inches here and there.

My W is a part time accountant for my father-in-laws biz. She hates it but it pays good. Plus she does it all from home. I know a few accountants making some good money, but I think I would get sick of it fast.
  10. I don't see why not, as long as it's the same model.

    So close--must spam IHOP.
  15. Must be doing something right with those TL results and setup. Looking forward to your build(s). Welcome to SSA.
  16. How was your gain before using the DD-1 and now? example: 10 oclock, now 2oclock. Just curious.
  17. That truck is getting destroyed.
  18. Try posting your email address and maybe you'll magically receive some links.
  19. What does your front stage consist of? Setting the LPF is preference based, but that's also because it's dependent on what speakers it's mating with. For example let's say your front stage consists of a pair of 5 1/4" component set speakers with lack-lustering midbass, then perhaps setting the LPF to 100hz may be a good starting point. Or your front stage consists of some bigger size speakers that have no problems playing midbass with some punch, then perhaps you should set the LPF lower.
  20. for posting that , if 2 can sounds like that from a video i can imagine how 4 will sound in person Should be very loud.

See the Herman Cain videos with Mike Tyson?
  22. I understand what your saying. I only wish to hear a slightly more detailed response from Nathan concerning HO alts charging at 15v (since they aren't supplying a constant charge 24/7 like a charger).
  23. I believe a lower amperage but longer charging time is overall better then higher amperage and shorter charge time.
  24. I would have said the same as Alton. Both drivers should perform quite well.
  25. I understand what your saying, and I've always felt that it wouldn't be an issue. However, Nathan is in the battery industry, and I would have to be an arrogant fool to simply think I know better then him.
