  1. 39.3 inches of port area with two 3 inch ports.. 88.7 inches of port area with one 6 inch port.. How are you coming up with these numbers?

    Try them, you'll...
  5. 2 15s in a sealed enclosure can still be very loud, it's all relative to the user. Since your goals are pretty basic as the usual "I want it to be loud and sound good", it's hard to say which route would be best for you. I'm not looking for loud, did that, and was great for demos, but for my own listening pleasure found it more of a gimmick than anything. New goal is to sound good but still go deep and move air. Well the drivers you chose should sound very good to you, and with the amount of cone area, and air they can displace, they will still have gobs of output in the sealed enclosure.

  7. That "punchy feeling" may be easier to attain with a sealed enclosure (but would lose output), not sure if sa8s are suited for that type of alignment.
  8. Awe man, That's sick. Pretty wild pulling our the pcb boards for painting casing. I'm glad you posted an update here, or I likely would have never seen it!
  9. 39"w, 18.5h, 17"d Couldn't you fit 3 12s, have more cone area then 6 8" drivers, and spend less money?
  10. Yes sadly. A few things to be honest 1) I somehow hit "loud" on my cd player without realizing it. No idea how long its been like that so I was clipping 2) The box was too big 3) I lowered the SSF and decided to play chopped and screwed stuff hitting at 24-28hz. I know I talked to you Denim about this earlier. The only 8s I can find from soundsplinter are running at 200$ a pop Yeah I do have space restrictions. Instead of going for pure power (lvl 5 15) and calling it a day, I think I want cone area instead of power this time around. I would like to try and keep this as cheap as possible without getting like 20$ woofers from best buy or something lol. What are your space restrictions?
  11. i dont really want super tweeters. Okay, wasn't sure. Personally I would never use them either, but your goal to have your highs hangs with 155db+ bass is going to be challenging, and extremely hard on the ears. For example, a .308 rifle unsuppressed fired 10m away approaches 150db, with most of the sound ranging from 130 Hz to 3 kHz. That stings the ear, enough times and it will make speech hard to understand and differentiation of sound difficult. but you gotta understand. i will listen to this thing loud maybe once a month at shows for a day. even if i was driving around town on a weekend, i wouldnt be playing it real loud. Yeah it's all dependent on the length of time and loudness.

No experience with horns so I won't say what would work or wouldn't. I do think that PA mids are probably a good route though for sheer output.

Congrats, that's no easy feat. thanks, i was getting all pissed off.. i was burping 147.9 over and over then i made a few small changes in setting and gained a .1 and i was happy! Aint that a bitch, at .9 mark and just need that tad more! 0.1 is when you start putting duct tape around the surrounds, smoothing out inside of enclosure, and test moving the box a few inches here and there, etc. Fun stuff.

  16. What do you think about Jon's Bohlender Graebener Neo's? I almost got some for myself and still might! Super clean sound and loud...but big. I don't know where I would mount them. If I was going to make pillar pods I would probably just run some super tweets. I was trying to stay away from that though. If the supertweeters were off axis then perhaps they wouldn't be as harsh, but may require some EQ.
  17. Not sure why you picked a sealed enclosure type if your goal is maximum output in the lower spectrum. Anyway, "2500watts rms amp" is plenty of power, I would use a shared internal volume.

http://atf.gov Subliminal message on the right hand side of the flag?
  20. Looks flush baffle to me, and the port is kerfed like crazy. Rounding the inside corners isn't going to make an audible difference.
  21. If I was in the market for some 8s, these would be in my top choices. OP, Do you have some space restrictions that aren't allowing you to use 10" or 12" drivers? Reason I ask, less drivers with more cone area = similar if not more output and less costly.
  22. Able to put an enclosure behind the center console, or build a new center console / enclosure, or plan on using an enclosure under the rear seats?

    Not that I'm aware of.

At the last second the driver threw himself over to the passenger side, and lived with minor cuts.
