The V40 Rebuild, Front Stage Only. Update: Rear cargo area.
Well now I have lots of space for an enclosure. I was thinking of an 18" icon, hmm.

Stock Component Speaker System?
i see.. thanks man. yeah, the coaxials are temporary, like, another week temporary. just bought a kicker component set a second ago. as far as sq, lol i never heard decent sq in my life. SQ is relative, but I really ment I don't know what signal they are receiving and actually playing/ ohhhh i thought you were making fun of putting coaxials there.. lol. erm, doesn't sound too bad although i'm sure if the coaxials were to stay they'd eventually become blown. They would break from over excursion or too much power. Unless you push them past their limits, they should be fine. If anything they may not receive the higher frequencies as much and the tweeter on the coaxial will be quiet, but that won't cause any damage.

Fuckers, making me wrap shit. I hope you have a seizure: Just gotta wrap the sides and cut excess vinyl. It's not perfect, but I'm content with the outcome.

deathrows in a sealed enclosure?
Is it just me or do you find it funny that their advertised as a SQL driver, yet aren't recommended for a sealed enclosure. No T/S specs so you couldn't model them either. Sounds like you should just use one ported, A dilemma, oh fun.

Stock Component Speaker System?
The tweeters probably have a capacitor inline for attenuating lower frequencies, and the mids might just be ran full range or possibly have some sort of inline filtering as well. I wouldn't use the stock crossover network for any other speakers then the ones it was designed for (aka the oem speakers). The coaxials won't be "hurt" but as far as sq,

I don't think heat will be an issue, that's why I left parts of the sides open and top cutouts. No leds, makes it a Bitch backing up at night, can't see shit.

The V40 Rebuild, Front Stage Only. Update: Rear cargo area.
I do as much as I can then get burnt out and take a break. :thanx: X1,000,000,000,000,000I say to carpet the false floor the same color as the factory carpet. I would also do some kind of plexi inlay to product the amps/processor. I think carpeting would blend in better then the piano finish, but man do I hate wrapping stuff. How much easier is it to wrap a panel a in carpet then vinyl? At least this panel is large so there isn't too many sharp curves.

The V40 Rebuild, Front Stage Only. Update: Rear cargo area.
So I'm redoing the rear cargo area where the amps, processor, and battery are. Plus a false floor gives me more room for an enclosure to sit on top. Mockup, 11/3 11/4 Still need to do some sanding around the edges where the heatsinks protrude. I'm thinking about doing a piano black finish on the false floor and battery spot. Any thoughts, tips, etc?

15" DCON
Enclosure should be fine, the recommendations are: 2.0-3.0ft^3 min 3.25-4.0ft^3 optimal. That amp is perfect for a dcon. Should be a sweet setup, I may end up doing something similar myself.

Sweet. I'd be stoked to have the previous icon, and now a new one, super cool stuff. Just started laying everything out for the rear cargo area: http://cargocollecti...-Stereo-Rebuild The progress is looking good. More updates tonight. Waiting on glue to dry then I'm back outside for the day.

15" or 18" sealed. So that idea is out. I'm probably going to have the enclosure behind the rear seats, then the amps on the floor closest to the hatch. Just have to see how high the amps will sit and if I want to upfire and fire back. Oh and Alerion enclosures is local, so I'm having them build it, hehe. If I needed lots of room I would definitely go that route, and would be fun.

I was just wondering when the new icon was going to be released, then later yesterday the announcement was made. What's this "Spiral Cooling", sounds fancy. Is the pole vent "rifled"?

Are you using bondo kitty hair on the mat? I would suggest using regular resin for that, along with multiple layers of mat. Then if you have small gaps to fill or dimples, use the kitty hair. Otherwise I don't think the bondo kitty hair will really soak into the mat, and the mat is what gives it the strength. Towards the end when you need to smooth everything out: Grab a cheese grater and you can use that grate/sand down the kitty hair / body filler before it fully hardens (makes overall sanding easier). Tuned in!

- The Brand New 2011 ICON T/S
This^ I bet you'll be the first one running the new 15 sealed. I was one of the first to run the latest icon, so why not continue the tradition.- The Brand New 2011 ICON T/S
Any idea on enclosure specs for a sealed 15"?- The Brand New 2011 ICON T/S
Depending on a few things, I may try to snag a 15" soon.- Welcome to the IHoP
That's all he does: avoid any slightly technical question. He wants to divert any questions about his amplifiers to clamp results, which is great for the ignorant who can look and go "Oh aww it's underrated, its super good." I know there are several other companies in the same boat as far as how their products are produced, and I'm fine by that, but because of his business ethics, I would never spend my money with him. - The Brand New 2011 ICON T/S
