Welcome to the IHoP
Damn, good deal then. We did that with a 2011 KTM xc300 from Texas, crate shipped, cheaper then local, etc.

SA12 VS VVX12 VS LI12
His reps are and that means HE is. There is no separation and it is ultimately his responsibility. Other than that faux pas Aaron, the rest of your post was dead nuts on. To clear things up - NO ONE has access to selling SKAR Products unless they are an authorized dealer, such as SSA or WoofersETC.com (Or a local shop), etc. We have all dealer contracts on hand and all dealers MUST follow MAP pricing. While you may see a few people around the forums as "SKAR Reps" they are in no way dealers for SKAR Audio unless they own a physical shop - they represent the brand and help provide information based on personal use, feedback, previous car audio knowledge, etc. The only companies that actually stock SKAR Audio such as SSA, Woofersetc must follow MAP Pricing, and these people going around the forums giving false pricing, etc is just not true. I handle all shipping and I can assure that I stress people to order from reputable dealers like SSA so that they are covered under warranty, it's why we have dealers. If someone is selling for the said "$295" With full warranty, I will look into this, but I can also assure that it is not coming directly from SKAR and the subwoofers may be used. I have been working diligently to build SKAR around a dealer base and to protect the brand so it does not turn into the next Kicker. SKAR is expanding fast, but we will not sacrifice brand integrity to do so. We are about to launch several new product lines in the near future as we continue to grow as a brand, and hopefully as we do continue to grow these so called "Forum Reps (claiming to be dealers)" will disappear after they get rid of whatever inventory they may or may not even have. Unfortunately anything you say I take with a grain of salt.

Must have been a pretty costly boat for such a trip. Sure can't drive it back home like a car.

Sounds exciting. Little bit of a handfull? I wish I had some water near me, it's ironic AZ is one of the top states for boat sales. I bought mine in Az. Most boats per capita there. Did you get it up in Phoenix? Yep Such a beautiful city. LOL.

Photo storage.
Do you have fast internet? Do you want to store them online as like a backup, or for actual viewing?

SA12 VS VVX12 VS LI12
No the people of SSA believe Kevin is crap, he is not. HE was not a dealer he was undercutting SSA which is bad. Ohh, so hes not an actual dealer then? Makes sense, he offered me 295 shipped for two VVX12s. I looked at the FI Xs and they dont look like they would be on the same level of the other ones. On Fis site they claim they are their entry level subs. Exactly the issue. Extremely shady, extremely bad for the industry. This is identical routine that happened with a few other brands in the past including one of the worst all time RD, who we were smart enough not to be connected with them. I hope Kevin is not repeating that model. Not saying this is what Kevin is doing; But the issue in the past has been that there are so many of these brands that show up. They start off with a really bad track record, try to run from it and pretend nothing is wrong. Quickly followed by a sea of kiddies that call them selves reps running around the net pushing the crap out of a product with the same bullshit approach of the production is the one-size-fits all answer to EVERY install and every need regardless if it is even remotely close to what the customer wants or needs. It is the same show, just different actors. Aaron just summed EVERYTHING up, perfectly. In the last few weeks I've seen numerous people calling themselves skar reps (thinking their hot shit or something) pushing skar products for every application known to man. You could ask them if its good for a quasi-eighth order bandpass and they would say "Yes sir!" It's really sad to see people that clearly don't know what their talking about trying to sell something, it's pure fail, and it's an insult to other manufacturers that strive to make a good a product with good customer service.

SA12 VS VVX12 VS LI12
I'd rather buy a used quality product then a brand new lower line. I've bought used Fi BLs, used SSA XCONS, etc.

I thought the next skars were going to be chromed Win!

I think SSA sells Skar subs not sales them. I blame my Engrish teacher. . Bad excuse, lol.

Closest I've been to something like that was 100 feet away, it scared me pretty bad. Yeah I heard a loud noise, like a loud thud, then saw rubber flying in the air, heard a chunk bounce off my roof, then it was over. Shits scary. Happened to me on my way up to Phx, it came right at my windshield and my friend moved in their seat to avoid it haha. Lol.

Did you order the hydraulic crimper online? I've heard Harbor Fright has some decent cheap ones.

I wonder if this is undercutting the SSA store. Wouldn't surprise me.

Fuck Skar. I love it how anybody that buys some skar product can basically be a "rep" and all of sudden there hot shit. Any damage? At least nothing worse happened. I pulled over and didn't see anything, I didn't run over any of it thankfully, so I'm good.

Aiming Kick Pods
Okay I guess it's not hard to figure out... GREEN ----- vented 0.25ft^3 40hz BLUE (This one seems to be pretty linear like the sealed, but with a little more output) ------- vented 0.25ft^3 30hz YELLOW ------ sealed 0.25ft^3 PINK ---- IB Okay doing vented with low tuning is going to have an extremely long port length, so that's out. IB only has an increase in output from around 30hz - 55hz. (who knows with cabin characteristics). I may end up adding a subwoofer down the road, so output in the bottom range isn't a huge concern. Now if it was 150hz or something, that would be a different story. So from modeling, it looks like I should just do sealed.

Aiming Kick Pods
Wanna guess which plot is sealed, vented, and IB?

Welcome to the IHoP
Driving home right now on the freeway, Semi right next to me blows a tire / retread, scares the shit out of me, pieces flying all over my car...
-
Aiming Kick Pods
Ill graph the ib. and see how much volume I can really get. Off hand I remember a super low tuning was equivalent to the sealed response, but just higher spl overall
-
Aiming Kick Pods
Ill compare ib when im home. I can find the volume of the pods with cat litter or rice. If I eqd the major peak at 55hz region, then gradually eqd the rest, wouldn't it have more output but still sound pretty linear in response?

Aiming Kick Pods
There not even worth the flimsy outer mold. I will never use them again or even recommend them. Worst thing is there not even sealed. Funny you say that because I'm actually planning on cutting open the back of mine once there finished. How much are you planning on cutting out? Q-Logic has no back what so ever, meaning they are flimsy as hell. Mine won't flex or bend at all. Not sure how much I'll cut out, I'll probably take a sharpie to the back, outlining the hole, then post it up to see what Sean or Brad have to say. Listen to them first sealed is what I'd say. It also wouldn't hurt to measure the volume of the "enclosure" and model them with your drivers and then model them IB to see the difference. Then relisten and see if the difference is desirable. If so, then its time to vent into the fender. Most likely venting will be your friend unless you end up with some serious volume. Good point. Vented gives a big increase in the lower range, Which I want And I can always use the 31band eq in the ms8 to bring any peaks down.
