    That's nuts.

I am on my phone at the moment. Is there a supermod on? He says he's planning on buying a bunch of stuff because he's starting a build. So I don't know if he's just nuts and looking at everything, or if that's just an excuse for spamming. I don't want to ban someone because there just crazy and looking at everything, but it really sounds like he's just wasting everyone's time.

I felt electricity a few times when helping dad weld some stuff. I was holding 2 tubes together, one was grounded, the other was not and when the arc formed I felt electricity going from one of my hands, through my chest and out the other hand. Kind of fun I made a taser out of a disposable camera.. that sucked. Touch that capacitor after it's charged and you get a good sting. I touched it by accident then touched it again to see if it's still charged. Got my finger numb twice Sure it was your finger?

Aaron, you should ban "philla". He's spamming everyone in the f/s section asking them bullshit questions. err, or he's planning on buying everything listed in the f/s section.

Definitely! haha Thanks for the kudos! I like waking up to 14.6V every morning I may look to see if there is an adjustment bracket that give me more room to adjust so i can get the belt a little tighter, kinda' annoying when it squeaks You could try spraying the belt with some belt conditioner too. I've used this in the past and it helped.
  10. But im actually building a wall... lolhaha. maybe ill have aaron or mark clean it up. who knows. Haha true.
  11. Damn, this is worse then when Shizzzon starts a build log, bunch of talk. Steve your gonna need two threads: thread a about the build log, then thread b of just pictures and progress. Maybe I'm being a little anal lol.
  12. I've never thought about doing that for fitting larger speakers in my doors, yet it's pretty straight forward and simple. Curious as to how the new door panel will look. And why are you using the dds over the focal utopias?

Isn't a great feeling finally getting it installed, wires ran, jumping inside, starting it up, and boom excellent voltage.

Nope, but sometimes I happen to run into one, amusing at times.
  16. You know that makes no sense. Not saying its your fault but regardless. For the most part, this is a 12 volt amp, and can take +4 volts above 12 volts but its bad to go less than 1 volt below? If it's seeing 16v at full tilt, then it obviously has enough amperage for the current draw. If it's dropping into the 11s at full tilt, there isn't enough amperage to satisfy the current draw, shit starts getting really hot. Or am I wrong? Do I believe dropping into the 11s for short amounts of time is going to instantly kill the amp? No. However, I do believe that if your driving down the road for 45 minutes playing at full tilt, and your voltage is in the 11s for the majority of the time, then yes I think that will eventually kill the amp. I owned a virtually brand new saz1500d v2 about six months ago, had it on good electrical, no issues, got slightly warm at full tilt, never hot. I only used it for about month then sold it on CL. I told the guy who bought it, that if he wasn't using additional batteries and/or a high output alternator, or gained down, that he would likely fry the amp. He called me two weeks later asking if I had a receipt for it, he fried it, wanted to see if the warranty would cover it. Does my story mean I'm right? Maybe, maybe not, maybe the amp was faulty and it just happened to break right after I sold it.

My dad just thinks if we don't have any speakers in the rear, then whoever is sitting back there is "getting jipped" for lack of a better word. It's also funny because there's almost never anyone in the back. Most of his driving is just him or me with him, and I just happen to sit in the front.

Ding ding ding. Otherwise I would use y-splitters. Sure it even has a crossover? Sounds rather stripped out already, maybe you are lucky and they didn't include that either. Maybe lol. If it was my vehicle I wouldn't have the rears, but it's not. Already tried explaining why he should just leave the rear empty, he'll just say "okay" then order rears any way. I'll probably lower the gain on the rear channels though.
  20. That amp should be fine on stock electrical.
  21. ssh replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Yep. I guess market research shows more people add an amp for a subwoofer then for their front speakers. Which is stupid because you can still use the front full range output for sub duty. Are you sure it is only sub frequencies or is it just a non fading output. I haven't tested it, but I'm guessing it's probably just crossed fairly high. Already ordered a replacement, should make my life a little easier when I set everything up on the amp (6channel, 1&2 for front, 3&4 for rear, and last two channels bridged for sub).

I was paying more attention to not having a flip out screen, easy front menu, and ipod capability, just assumed it'd have the rca outputs in the back. Oh well, got another alpine coming lol.

  24. The extra terminals are just to make it easier to wire, but you can just use a single set. Both the +'s are internally connected, as well as the -'s.

Godsmack, I've been outside all day, just finished a little bit of glassing til it got stormy and blew all my fiberglass mat down the road, LOL.
