Help with a Dual SA8 box?
Since your already in winisd, you could try adjusting the enclosure volume and see how it effects the spl graph.

Help with a Dual SA8 box?
L Port design is fine, it's just the port length that changes the tuning. in winisd, click "new", select "own drivers", pick the driver, press next pick amount of drivers, press next, box type: vented, press next. Now a box will popup, click on "Box" tab, Front Chamber(only chamber in this case), input your gross volume (this really doesn't matter since were just finding the vent (port) mach.), Pick your tuning, I guess for rap you could do something in the low 30s. Click on "vent" tab, Click on the shape until it looks like a box, have the number: 1 (since your doing a single port), then adjust the two vent boxes, width and height, you should see the vent mach box change. The more port area you have, the lower the vent mach will go, keep making the vent area larger until the vent mach is green. Also, you can click on the measurement type and convert it from metric to standard if that's easier for you.

Review of the Sonic Soundlabs Subsonic10
Thank you for welcoming me to the forum and adding to the review, ohh and even the sarcasm.... I have been asked on the phone and on other forums about reviews of our subs and this was done by a third party source that reviews several hundred products per year and we have no decision or ability to adjust their review of the product. This was intended to be a third party review and to introduce people to our products since we are new. If this is not acceptable or is unwanted on this forum, then please delete this post and I will not post here again. I have sent an e-mail to Mark and Aaron about becoming a manufacturer sponsor on the site and I am awaiting for there return e-mail. The Super Sonic 18 post that you found on the **** site was sent to a dealer in Winter Haven Florida and one of the 4 18's was damaged in shipping and the cone did break (it did not come unglued from the former). It was replaced within two days and it did a 150.8 sealed on the dash with 1 Audiopipe 3000.1 amplifier tuned to 40 Hz. and the wall was not closed of from the back of the Chevy Blazer. Yes the subs are hand built and yes there is holes in the basket for cooling but they are not hand drilled. The cones are vented under the dust cap and the leads are ran between the spiders and comes out through the top spider at the edge of the basket. As for the quality level, we build everything with the best possible parts from top to bottom and everything is over built but everyone gets to have their own opinion of what quality is. I'm glad to hear a response back, in all seriousness. I'm not in any way shape or form a mod / admin of the board, so nothing will be deleted heh. I'm just a schmuck, for lack of a better word. Personally I wouldn't mind you joining the forum, helping people out, getting a section setup for your products and specs, and lastly advertising. Just gets old when someone registers, advertises something, then leaves. I've also read that you guys are really knowledgeable, so I hope you can stay and contribute.

Welcome to the IHoP
I love it when people seek legal advice on a public car audio forum, just how fucking stupid can you be. If they come back to my house tonight, I'm going to shoot them, that's like self-defense and I don't have to worry about going to jail, right? Just wanna make sure. Oh shit, can you say premeditated...

Welcome to the IHoP
Apparently it took some people of smd a while to figure out that my "SPL Calculator" was a complete joke for my personal amusement. I got responses such as: "lmao. that page is obviously a joke man. its sayin steves tahoe does 182's " or, "There is a lot more that goes into db's lol. box is most important!!!!" On the bright side, I learned that: you can put shit into dbs, that those dbs will own that shit because they are possessive, and the key to being loud is in the enclosure!

I was going to say some outrageous statement impersonating a skar nuthugger aka rep (guess its super easy to become a rep now, lol), but thought why bother. So instead here I am explaining what I thought about saying but ultimately decided against it.

Help with a Dual SA8 box?
If you do decide to do it yourself, Plug in enclosure dimensions, I recommend using 3/4" mdf or similar wood, put in 0.75 for thickness, then you can find your gross volume. http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#rec Then if you decide to do a double baffle (two panels of wood glued together where speaker is mounted to), subtract the extra sheet from the above volume. Subtract each subwoofer's displacement from your enclosure volume. Download Winisd, http://www.linearteam.dk/default.aspx?pageid=winisdpro Grab the T/S specs for your drivers, create a new driver in winisd with those specs. Make a new project, plug in a volume (won't really matter, just use gross volume), go the vent / port tab, start adjusting port width and port height until the vent mach is green, then you know you have enough port area and won't have any port noise. Then you can use the port tuning calc here, http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#porsq Don't forget about port displacement.

Help with a Dual SA8 box?
Do not use the RE calculator, it's a joke. Also what type of music does your son listen to? Unless he listens to a bunch of rap / dubstep electronica, I would tune higher. Personally I'm tuned around 35hz and my next enclosure will likely be higher, just depends on music material. Completely agree, not trying to drum up business for anyone, but he does make some kickass designs, you clearly need a design, and it's not very much dinero, plus you get a cutout sheet I believe, makes everything very easy for constructing.

Keep the W6v2's or...
I have no say in what ever deal you have worked out with you'd friend, so no comment there. I would try a ported enclosure, it will be a noticible difference.

Review of the Sonic Soundlabs Subsonic10
Perhaps I can add to the review? I found a post on caco, "i have seen 4 of the supersonic 18's and mehhh u can tell they are hand built .. kinda sketchy .... they did sound good though" and "well hand drilled holes in basket for cooling i gues holes punched through cone behind the dustcap .. im guess to relieve pressure off the cap... the leads come through holes cut in the spider ............u can just tell its really shop assembled woofers and and hand built just not on a real quality level......... we did have 1 18 fail after about 15mins of play time... the cone came unglued from the former " Oh and welcome to the forum, nice to see your not just here to advertise your product.

Welcome to the IHoP
Yeah, we have a sig 556 and ruger mini30 (762), pretty different rounds. I haven't followed anything in the firearm worlds for years, but I know they were trying to make popular an "in between round" that was supposedly the best of both worlds, 6.8 or something. 6.8SPC and a 6.5 Grendel Grendel strikes a memory but yeah those. Reminds me of the 9mm, 40, and 357sig in between.
