  1. Sweet, I've actually had the idea a while back for my jeep, ported midbass Glad to see someone doing it here!
  2. I'm going to bump this for:
  3. Happy Birthday guys!
  4. See what I did there? Ballsy to redo the front right before the upcoming show. Tuned in to see the finished product!
  5. If you plan on upgrading amps or strapping another down the road then I'd definitely go with the biggest one you can afford. If you have no intentions of upgrading to a bigger amp(s) and just using that aq2200 and front stage amp, then the lower line alts from DC and your extra batteries in the rear should do well. Mainly just comes down to how much you really want to spend Anyone that asks how much I spent on my alt laughs and talks about how outrageous that is, but it takes power to make power and there isn't any fairy dust I've found that magically makes power. I've been to shows where others had aftermarket high output alts and their voltage at idle was terrible, worse then stock, Alts made mechanical noise, induced noise into the stereo system, and just didn't make any power close to their rated output. But I can happily say that I never had any issues with my dc xp, voltage drop was a thing of the past, and when I did need help with wiring the alt I called DC and Rob walked me through everything. Just my two cents.
  6. Have you looked into the SP and HP lines from DC Power? You could probably get away with one of those along with your extra battery. I know if it was me I'd purchase a DC product, but there seems to be a fair amount of people having issues with them. Try doing some research on google between the companies products and see what others have to say from experience. (and obviously others can comment in here) I can say: my dc alternator worked wonderfully, it made a ton of amperage at idle, driving down the road, anywhere and everywhere. It bolted right up, didn't have any issues. But DC Power is extremely busy and often times hard to get in contact with.
  7. Only issue I have is in the Private Message area, the ads don't fit on top so they drop down and cover the first pm's making them impossible to click on. I'm using firefox 3.6
  8. Happy Birthday Nick
  9. Agreed. Woofer looks very nice, lots of excursion and vehicle flex, but no titties.
  10. There's no need for any of that. DC is doing a huge favor for me (at least the way I see it) and I have no use for the xp alt, so I shipped it back to them so they could use it. I just want to make sure they got it safe n sound, and figured I better check now and not six months later when I'd forget the tracking info and they'd forget "the xp alt for a 1997 wrangler, the customer in az. phx was it? wait no, tucson." Gotta remember companies like this deal with thousands of customers and can't remember "Hey it's Joe with the dodge neon"
  11. Just want to make sure you guys received the alt I shipped back in May The tracking info said it was signed by Robbie, but just want to hear it from someone at DC that way no one forgets and six months later no one remembers what happened to it or where it went. It was a 270xp for a 1997 jeep wrangler 4.0L Thank you guys. -Stefan Hinote
  12. This is also a good point, often overlooked I'm not sure how you can test for this, I'm guessing you could use an o-scope and look for a solid line among the sine wave.
  13. How is the gain set? by ear? dmm? o-scope? Does he listen to any bass boosted music? Just assuming too much power, whether it be clipping or not.
  14. Good luck Aside from that, build looks great
  15. What are your space constraints?
  16. The bl is a great driver, sounds good, gets loud, just buy it already I loved mine.

And Ram here can make you a box design OP

Contact andrew of Argent audio. They have their own section on the forum. He's built three boxes for me in the past couple years, anything from a simple sealed enclosure to an 8 cubic feet monster with 3 6" aeroports. His work is stellar, and affordable
  19. Yeah and its not discontinued yet
  20. Please quote the text that led you to believe production has stopped.

    Great idea
  22. I've heard Marks last vehicle with the prototypes and Big Wills zcon setup. Both were extremely loud, and I didn't notice any lack of sq. At a certain point (in terms of loudness, dB level) everything distorts to the human ear and so forth. But both vehicles could have set the subwoofer very low and blended very well with the front stage. Then turn it up for excessive bass and start ripping body panels apart. So I know if I was in the market for new drivers, zcons would be my first choice.
