  1. Personally I would just go buy a bag and stuff some in the enclosure and give a listen. Then you'll have your answer whether it sounds better to you or not. Stuff is cheap and would only take a few minutes to install. I used it for my very first sealed enclosure, upon adding it, I thought it sounded a little better, but it also could of been psychoacoustics at play
  2. You could try a new box for your type-r, try a ported enclosure. That would give you some more low end. As far as the Fi Q, it's a great driver and it digs real low And just because the rms is 1000watts does not mean it needs anywhere near a 1000watts to get loud or sound optimal. Also a capacitor won't help any so don't bother with that. Although a small extra battery in the rear will (depending on how much power you decide to use it may not be worth it though). I would list your max dimensions for where ever your planning on putting the enclosure. Do you have any preference to the sound of sealed enclosures to ported enclosures?
  3. It is memorial weekend... And then they will be slammed when they open back up... Either way, the OP is aware of DC's customer service Yeah, like really? I'm not in no hurry to buy anything, if I was, I would of called. Or Emailed for that matter. I made this thread so whenever they could reply, that's fine. As far as CS goes, its not going to stop me from buying from them yet. I understand stuff happends in these types of industries. I haven't seen any real major turn offs, especially for the product the build. I've also seen them do a lot extra for there costumers they didn't have to do. So, if anybodies got a problem with DC, fine, but no need to think out loud and post in my thread. I could understand if somebody had a huge problem with what I'm asking about and warning me. But I haven't seen that yet. I don't like posting in threads about inquiries that don't involve me, but felt like I should after what the previous poster said. And as you said, DC has definitely taken care of me as far as CS and products, big time.

Haven't been on the forum lately. enclosure and new amp look sick. I really love how the box turned out

  6. I haven't tried a hairtrick yet either, but I did try a shirt trick... This is 2 15" xcons and about 500-600watts to each xcon.
  7. This build is sick. And the last few pictures have given me some ideas for redoing my doors. Specifically the part about cutting a sheet of mdf to match the shape of the panel. Looks like it'll be easy to mount the pod to the panel, and it'll blend in well.
  8. You do some awesome work man Love seeing your stuff on fiberglass forums as well as here now!
  9. I hope Jake didn't cover it. That's user error, and that's not covered. I told the guy about db-r. Saw the amp back on CL a month or so later..
  10. These are sweet: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=091-1245 They also make them in another finish.
  11. You got use to it? Honestly though, if you expect some help why don't you list your equipment and how everything is installed, as well as electrical, just cover all the bases.

I would but I don't use shampoo... I need to redo my car doors, but I'm planning on doing that on the end of summer. Also thought about making shelf speakers, having them look twisted and somewhat distorted. But since each side would be different, not sure how well they would sound. Also thought about a small footrest (fiberglass). Keep the ideas rolling in people
  13. Honestly it's just sad, the norm. Pretty much the average person from CL. I sold this guy a sundown saz1500d a couple months back, I told him he needed 1/0gauge wire and an extra battery and or h/o alt, or he would fry it. He said he was getting another battery and alt soon. Two weeks later he calls me up and asked if I still had the receipt cause he fried it...

What are some good sites with ideas / articles / how to on fun projects (wood, fiberglass, plastic, abs, metal, electrical, etc). I need some stuff to do over summer, keep me busy. So far I've found: http://makeprojects.com/ and some of the how to articles on caraudiomag (some are decent, most don't explain shit) I like tinkering with shit, would like to get my feet wet with some more fiberglass (literally obviously ). Basically just need ideas on cool shit to make. Any thoughts? Only things that I have come up with are distro blocks and fiberglass aeroports, but that's just car stuff...
  15. I appreciate it
  16. Even so, I bet it won't get a 150 in the port tuned in to see the results
  17. OG icons doing work! Love the equipment and being able to look back and see the icons pounding.
  18. Funny video as always...Gonna love the alt
  19. It's going to vary from vehicle to vehicle, and installation. Just an example, I believe Dvalue has two 10" or 12" icons (not a spl orientated driver) in a trunk car (sealed off, front firing) and he's doing hair tricks...
  20. Thanks I'll see how it goes after the first few months then talk more about supplements (doubt I'll need it / be that serious) if need be.

Good movie. If you watch it, read up on the background info afterwards, based on The Long Walk written by Slavomir Rawicz, and everything entailed around it.
  22. If you knew how many designs I've done on it you'd understand why. Since you joined here, it looks like your posting quite a few videos every day or so
  23. Welcome to the forum, tons of good information without having to weave through a bunch of misinformation. The search function is a gold mine I live in Tucson too, or I should say Vail now...
  24. Sweet Video, you make sketchup look easy, real easy
  25. This obviously doesn't help, but it sounds like if you want to go with all the extra weight, then you need a vehicle with a stronger chassis designed for it (truck, box frame, pick up, etc) Or go with a smaller build in the tC Good luck Sean
