  3. Thanks for the tips, installed both pods today. Taking a break then ill either try heating and wrapping, or paint
  4. There slightly angled, but the actual tweeter is swiveled towards the driver
  5. I do believe the tuning frequency of a ported box sits above the zero db line. Yeah, that guy's a dick.. Don't worry about it. If I build to these dimensions: Width: 52 Height: 22 Depth1: 18 Depth2: 18 Port Width: 5 Port Length: 8 It says the tuning frequency will e 31 Hz. Will someone with a more precise calculator run those numbers and tell me what the actual tuning frequency will be? Assuming these dimensions are external, so you need to take into account wood thickness and find internal dimensions then net volume, using 3/4" wood? For finding tuning, you need: net volume, port width, port height, and port length. You did not post a port height.
  6. I just read all three pages and boy are you a little shit burko. You want help with something you don't understand, the help you get, you ignore and shrug off as an insult. Even one of the top builders tries explaining things and offering advice and your response is of a brat... You have a lot to learn... Respect goes a long way man. You can reply to this and tell me off, it really doesn't matter to me, just remember if you want help here, show some respect.
  7. Thanks The PVC pods look so much better then my glass ones, and they only took like 30 minutes.
  8. Great dog food man! love seeing your work, i know it's an eye opener for me

  13. Could you try to wrap the one you have in tinfoil and make a mold of it for the other side? Yeah never came to thought. I found this article, looks pretty cool and it's easy: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/how-articles-provided-our-members/53732-cheap-adjustable-easily-replaceable-tweeter-pods.html :D

    Dcons ftw,
  15. Yeah possibly pvc... hmm. The problem I'm having is making both pods look the same. I think I remember even seeing a group buy for aluminum tweeter pods on a volvo forum, hmmm

    Happy Birthday Man!
  17. That pleather stuff is an itch to work with, from what i've done. I had the same problem on my pods. Would have been even worse for me on your small tweet pods. Keep on truckin' and getting experience. I need to start doing that soon. For the last couple weeks I've been working on our new house, laid laminate flooring, laid brick for patio, wheel barreled sand, all day long. Then I'd drive across town to our old house, get home around 7pm, and work on my doors til 12, then go to mcdonalds, then sleep. And now, I'm finally done working on the new house, pretty much done with everything, so I think I'm gonna load up a box of all fiberglass, mat, sand paper, dremel, paint, and just relax for two days and go over everything with a little more patience. Maybe sand down some rough edges I think the tweeter pods were too small with too many contours to wrap with just about anything I might try and make some tweeter pods like this: Imagining the two poles being stainless steel mounted to the door, and the pod just floats a little away from door.

  25. I sanded for about an hour. I should have sanded the fiberglass more and used less bondo though. Material was definitely thicker then a t shirt but still relatively thin for pleather vinyl. It was more of a problem wrapping and having creases everywhere. I need to learn how to cut it right so the creases are ridden of.
