box help 2 18's SMD + stetsom 7k2d
4 15s have a big cone area advantage over a pair of 18s... just saying. It's all in the cabin tho. The same equipment swapped from one vehicle to another can be worlds different in output.

Yep, just added one run of 0/1 welding wire from output stud on stock alt to positive terminal on battery, no additional ground wires. It should be enough to get me by for a few months until DC can make an alt for my car did you fuse the wire stef? No, and I don't plan on it.

Muffled sound when volume is too high
Crap, I really hate the new advent of everyone recommending 32-34Hz tuning as for MOST drivers and MOST listeners it is WAY too low. 46Hz may be too high, but 32Hz is probably more too low than 46Hz is too high. Of course it is music and taste dependent on top of the driver, but ultra low tuning is not something that should be generically recommended. I'm going to guess his brother primarily listens to rap, (possible bad assumption) And I wasn't going to recommend 32-34hz, I was going to recommend 35hz Well we can wait for the op to reply and hopefully someone will notice the problem. And even then 32-34 is a bad recommendation. This is a Type R. Don't they work pretty well with 38hz? Just as a general tune to cover most basis.

Extending power and ground wires?
What size wire? And where is the wire that's going to be extended? You could add another inline fuse, decent way to extend without having it pose a threat to shorting out, but it may add a little more resistance into the line. Or depending on your budget or install, you could add a small battery for that transition.

My New Subs...again! lol D.A.D. BD Series subs!
I have no idea...should have just labeled that as their RMS...lol The one thing I hate when companies market their stuff is when they give their product a low rms but then say it's beefy and super underrated. It gives people the impression that it's magically better or on the same level with other drivers having a much higher rms. I understand the need to underrate things to be on the safe side so people aren't cooking the drivers and complaining, but hell when a company says it's underrated at 500watts and people think it's a monster driver that can take 1500watts, End of rant. I like the stitching look on the edges of the cone The bolded part is pretty much why he told me he wanted to do it that way....but hopefully...if things work out ...i will be around enough to make it clear for those in the know.....and everyday average joes...lol....if that makes sense......you picking up what i'm laying down? lol Yeah I hear ya

Same thing with amps!!!!!!!!!! Drives me fucking nuts. Yeah, at least if they say rated xxx at 12.5v and xxx at 14.4v it helps, but most of the time that's not the case.

Company Car
I was at their new shop about 3 months ago, didn't see anything worthy of being a company vehicle. About two weeks ago I was at a show and they didn't have a car setup, so it looks like there still deciding.

Muffled sound when volume is too high
Mess around with the port calculators at 12volt, http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#por Hopefully this will give you an idea of whats going on when you change box volume or port length and in effect change port tuning.

I say an old merc, turn it into a hot rod, chop the roof, etc. Then sound deaden that tin can until it's like a coffin.

Muffled sound when volume is too high
I hope that's a joke, he didn't specify any port dimensions OP, for one, the box is tuned way too high, his subsonic filter may vary well be set wrong and thus allows the driver to unload very quickly on just about any music, or the signal is being clipped and just sounds like shit, or not enough port area. Without port dimensions and actual box volume it's hard to get a straight answer on port area noise being the issue here.
