Tuned in! Interested in seeing how the amp does at .5 for daily...
  2. why are you so set on a 21" or 22", sure it has more cone area then a 18" but nothing a couple 18s wouldn't outdo... I just don't see the point, 18" is big already, if you want more output add more drivers, adjust enclosure volume / tuning...
  3. Nothing gets removed. No functionality is lost. It all win. More alts, more amperage, lots of power. Nothing but love. That's pretty wild, most setups with dual alts require the ac to be removed Excited to see photos of the before and after engine bay
  4. That's stupid, quad bracket? you don't need 4 alternators. Just put a optima battery in the back and call it a day. The Bracket, pulleys, and bearings all show amazing craftsmanship. If I ever need a bracket I'll definitely go through tejcurrent. So in order for this to fit, what all is being removed? AC?
  5. maybe thats the way to go...would you recommend the ssa icons? I've used the ssa icons and there awesome. linear response, maintained sq at full excursion, and still got loud

    Happy Birthday D
  8. F150 regular cab. I actually met Mark today nd he took a look at my car and I also talked to one of the box builders...Mark was kind of leaning towards the two twelves sealed and the box guy and my friend were leaning more towards the ported 12...so its tough to say and I am sure its hard to really say which will be louder...haha toughest decision of my life must have an easy life if this is your toughest decision... It would certainly be cheaper to go with one driver, but something about sealed enclosures just sound a little different, maybe more linear flat response. Either way you can't go wrong.
  9. If you would of watched the video then you would of known the beginning footage was with stock alt, at end of video with dc alt its sitting at 14v+
  10. I'll be on the lookout for the build
  11. I've always gotten the best output when I mounted my subwoofers on my rear windshield IB style. But really you have to ask some specific questions. Do you want tips on how to improve on sq or spl? Is this thread only about your sub stage or front stage as well? What equipment are you using?
  12. Yes AA, makes 7" carbon mids. I believe you can get them with tweeters too, (I think the tweeters are made from someone else, but Fi wouldn't use them if they weren't good).
  13. Alpine CDA-105 is a nice headunit, but it really depends on what features you need...
  14. Ha! Punch150 and Cerwin Vegas baby! 10" type-r sealed box and punch amp
  15. Not sure which specific style of cars your looking for, but these have plenty of room for a big build: And I'm sure there's tons of stuff you can do to the engine, if interested may wanna check out the volvospeed forum
  16. no one cares man, just be respectful of others.
  17. I see your running XCON's ported, how do they sound with rock or metal? Do you like having your subs punch you in the chest? Lol, they are unbelievable on rock and metal. It depends on the song though, some songs are ridiculously awesome while others are lacking because my system isn't really focused on rock. I find that a lot of rock songs do not have the lower frequencies recorded loud enough, but that might just be the ones I listen to. I think if you were heading in that route you'd probably want a slightly higher tuning like 33-35 than what I have. This will probably help on rock in most cases, though a lot of it has to do with the dynamics of a particular vehicle. I hope you enjoy your XCON! Agreed. Setting my amp gains to most output before audible clipping for dubstep and rap, then playing metallica I have to bump up the bass level on my deck from 0 to 2 or 3

    making a rocket ship?
  19. Agreed. No one else wants to hear YOUR stereo. Post a budget and max dimensions for your car.
  20. mmm. I loved my icons... and new ones on the way!
  21. I was mentioning 50hz, because that is what some people have been telling me I guess. I'm realistically looking at having the sub crossed at 70 (XCON 12). I like a little more impact from the sub. Problem is, I don't know if the XCON is capable of running up to 70 hz. I had an ED 13AV2 and was told it would exceed 70, but based on an RTA, 63 is where it rolled off fast. I really want a system that is going to give me some hard hitting kick drums, even the tighter metal kicks. Also, here is the site for my mids http://www.dls.se/en/car/prod.html?produkt=en_581 An xcon driver will play 70hz just fine

Looks like your front wheel is bent inward?
  23. Thats the one big downside to audio builds. How it sounds is what really matters in the end but we have no way of knowing on a forum. I'll report how it sounds when it's up and running at least. I was going to just slap a box in the back but then I'd end up having to remove it all the time for more room. So the time spent doesn't bother me since I'll be able to load up the car for and go on a road trip without leaving the sounds behind. I really don't know what to expect out of it. I have a feeling it's going to sound close to what a sealed box does. It's going to sound like sex for your ears
