  1. So the fiberglass is put over the box for aesthetics? Nothing wrong with that. Have you seen / heard any of his work? Finding a box builder is a bit hit and miss, for my last setup I was too cheap to pay for shipping for an enclosure and have someone I know that does good work build it. So I found someone locally that could do it, and the end product wasn't terrible but wasn't perfect either.
  2. Well I'm sorry to tell you that if you don't know then there's no way in hell we know, therefore no one can help you. If I were you, I'd talk to Andrew from Argent Audio on here and see what he can do for ya. His prices are fair and his work is superb, you know you'll be happy with the end product.
  3. You need to be more specific about "he uses mdf wood and fiberglass". does he build a box out of mdf and coat the inside with resin, and your referring to this as "fiberglass an mdf" does he build a box primarily out of fiberglass and uses mdf as a "skeleton" for wrapping the cloth around? does he wear pajamas and a name tag with "Willie" on it? If so stay away from that guy, it won't sound clean
  4. Honestly, you expect people to give you an educated answer when you ask such a vague question? What are your goals? Why do you want a fiberglass enclosure? For the look?
  5. Cool cool cool. So whatcha got in your ride? I'm in tucson...
  6. that's nuts Hows the windshield and weather stripping around it, weren't you having some problems with it getting torn apart?

yeah man, start tearing up the streets And so this post isn't considered a waste or flame, post a build log with the new drivers
  11. have as many fuse blocks as you want lol. For every connect from a positive terminal there should be a fuse. (unless you have a battery bank in the rear then theres no need to have a fuse between every single battery, but there should be a fuse on the last positive connection that's going to your equipment and the first positive connection going to the front main battery.
  12. yes and no. Depends what the fuse is trying to "save", an amp, multiple amps, the wire itself in case of short circuit?
  13. I don't have a fuse between my positive stud on alt to positive terminal on battery, neither does my stock wiring harness. I wouldn't worry about it.
  14. Monoblock amp is the way to go. Plus you don't need separate channels for the sub stage.
  15. Couldn't of said it any better. What coil config are the drivers? As long as you can wire the subs together to 1ohm then strap them. I believe you mean to two ohms, if you where wired to 1, each amp would be seeing .5 ohms the BTLs only come in 1 and 2 ohms. so you cant drop them two 1 ohm only .5. so would it be louder and more efficient to run them at 2 ohms strapped or not? As stated previously, get two dual 1ohm drivers. Two amps strapped at 2ohms is 1ohm AT each amp... your fine.
  16. It's rms.
  17. Just be careful when you drink it, it impairs you
  18. Yes you are correct. amp makes 4300watts at 1ohm. Wire two dual 1ohm drivers according to the below chart for a final load of 1ohm at the amp 4300watts / 2 = 2150watts per driver. ok thanks and Audioque rates all their amps at RMS wattage output im assuming? how do i find this out Here's the specs from the manufacturers site: http://www.audioque.com/aq/?page_id=30 Just make sure your looking at 14.4v specs, unless your running a 16v setup which I doubt... I've never used AQ amps so I can't say there good or bad. Someone else will have to post for an answer.
  19. Beer will freeze, low alcohol content... Ever get a cold beer from the fridge and bang it on a hard surface and watch what happens when you open it?
  20. ssh replied to Lungbuster's topic in Test 1, 2, 3...
He's running out of woofer porn Andrew, hurry

  22. You say potato, I say Potata
  23. your username says alot, you should change it to 194. I haven't read through your whole topic, just last couple posts, but it really sounds like you have no idea what your doing man. trying to run a 2ohm stable amp down to 1ohm = bad idea. That amp will not make 5000watts at 1ohm, not sure what type of protection circuity it has but hopefully it has something to stop a 1ohm load... Even if it did make 5000watts at 1ohm, that means each driver (if running 2) will get 2500watts. The power is divided among the drivers.
  24. Hello, bought a 270xp from you guys on 9/21/10, sales number was 12967. Due to me vehicle (1997 jeep wrangler straight six 4.0l engine) it needed a bypass harness, but you guys shipped it without a resistor for the stock wiring since they were out of stock. I sent Kyle a PM on October 29th and haven't heard any news about the resistor... I'd like to get this in sometime before I forget about it and have to call you a year later asking about it. Thanks, Stefan Hinote
