  1. I bought the amp January 5th 2007 but didn't get to install it until a couple days ago. So it is like it was new, having never been installed. It's the SAX 100.4. I bought it during the presale. I hooked the RCA up directly to the 4th channel input and there was still no output on the 4th channel speaker outs. So, it just says "SAX-100.4" on the bottom with no small letter afterwards ? That is the first one in the first revision I've heard of with a bad channel - but it is possible. E-Mail me at [email protected] for information about warranty. Correct, no letters after the 100.4. I sent you an e-mail. Just let me know what I need to do. Thanks, I appreciate it.

  3. So I hooked up my 100.4. I'm running 4 10 inch RE re's. I ran the subout rcas to the channels 1 and 2 and then ran 3 and 4 off the line outs. I'm using a dmm to tune the amp so I first put the 80hz 0db tone on at a low volume to set my low pass. speakers not hooked up and get all the way down. i stuck the dmm into the pos and neg of the channels 1 and 2 as if bridged. I got a reading of like .725V AC max and turned the low pass knob down until it started to change and figured that must be set at 80hz then. next I read each channel just to compare. they were .36 and .349V. That's fine. I then went on to do channels 3 and 4. It said like .2 something and so I thought the low pass was just at like 40hz or something... but it was still at as high of a frequency as it goes. Thats when I tried testing channel 3 and 4 separately and noticed that channel 3 was at like .2 somehting and the fourth channel was at like .03V. So the 4th channel isn't doing anything. Have you ever heard of this happening with this amp before? I hope I just overlooked something but I don't think I did. BTW, I tried switching the RCAs that went from the line out to the 3 and 4 to see if one of them was bad and it was still channel 4 that was messed up so that's not it. Any ideas? Thanks.
  4. Wow thats really smart. I can't believe that didn't even cross my mind. I don't know if I have another rca laying around but I'll go look. thanks a lot!
  5. Do you need to have all 4 channels for the 100.4 when bridged? reason i ask is I'm using it as 320 x 2 at 4 ohms for subs which i only have 2 channels of RCAs and I don't want to have to buy Y splitters if I don't have to. If so would you use channels 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 or what? thanks guys. -Trevor
  6. okay thats cool ben. although i know one its VC is rubbing. a new basket and maybe a new Vc should do for that one. the other may be totally fine. thats BS how they only gave you 110$. and im not really expecting to have my mags installed before the end of summer. im going to focus on making money to redo my whole system rather than trying to half ass it. i want everything to be perfect. im starting witht he electrical system. then new HU, processing, components, amps and finally get those monsters bangin.
  7. oh, and make sure you get good components up front. no speakers are really necessary for the rear. maybe an eq or something. i like audiocontrol.
  8. yup, many people are havign problems with the glide touch. with the new products fomr alpine and eclipse, i steered awya and am now looking at a pioneer 7600 dvd. that will brake me though lol.
  9. im sure what nick reccomends at 28hz tune will go VERY low. i cant wait to see how right i am... btw anyone wanna loan me a few Gs?
  10. if you cannot get them directly form nick i'll vouch that showrides is an A+ dealer. to be honest, id support the dealer just for that reason alone, to support the dealer. btw ben, did you ever get the money from fedex? they have yet to pick them up... is there any deadline that says if they dont pick them up by it they cant take them from me anymore? because id love to take it apart
  11. wow. lol. i dont thinkyou can go ported though. you'll need about a 20cuft gross enclosure. if you walled them right behind your head maybe. i love your choice of amps. do you know how much they cost? make sure you get like twin 300A alts lol.
  12. youd want to tune at 0db recording too btw...
  13. if i wasnt so caught up in school i would. but i just dont have the time right now. i working on a fiberglass enclosure, amp rack, and a fiberglass dash right now so im all booked up, sorry
  14. showrides is a great dealer. dont hessitate buying from him. just pray the shipping company doesnt play basketball with your package. but showrides will do w/e it takes to satisfy a customer.
  15. well im using a dmm to tune the amp, i cant just keep giving it more and more gain. the dmm tells me its putting out 1000w rms. i havent used the clamp meter yet to use AxV=W yet. i'll do that tomorrow, too. but today, im too busy. also i am hooking up an eDnine.1 to it tomrrow. i'll see if its the amp. i'll let ya guys know how it goes tomorrow. thanks!
  16. no, i have the positive from the amp going to the positive terminal of VC1, then the neg of VC1 to positive VC2 and neg of VC2 to negative of amp. i hooked it up to my dmm and it read 4 ohms. its a 2002 cadillac escalade. any1 have any ideas on how it could be the amp? i just dont think its possible to be at the amps fault.... idk... but i better be able to figure it out.... thanks guys... inputs still welcome
  17. okay ive got a mag 15 in a 2.2 cuft box sealed. id prefer bigger but its what i already had. the box is almost square but the front and back are definetly parallel. now ive got a JL 1000/1 on it... and its not very loud. i dont blame it at all on the sub. i know its capable of pain.... but i dont see how it could be the amplifiers fault. i tuned it to 64V with a true rms dmm. at 4 ohms thats appx 1030w rms or something. plenty of power for a mag to scream. when i get my ported box built and if i still think its not loud enough im going to try to hook up my friends eDnine.1 to it and see if thats a problem. but for ported boxes parallel baffle and back is perfectly fine right? i plan to have the subs mounted facing the roof... ports too... but have any of you experience cancelation with a mag or any driver? how big of a cut in SPL was it? cancelation is the only thing i can think of.... i know these subs wouldnt dissapoint me... i know a square box can cuase cancelation but i dont really know if it is for sure... help me out if ya can guys. any input is appreciated. thanks!
  18. oops, here ya go http://www.putfile.com/trevoreaton
  19. http://http://www.putfile.com/trevoreaton those are pics of my mag 15s. fedex is horrible. if youve ever seen ace ventura when hes an undercover delivery guy.... i swear they used my packages for the movie... but all in all Ben from www.showrides.net (SIs dealer) has been great. customer service 11/10! hes having 2 new subs sent to me and having fedex pick mine up at my door. if your skeptical about SI having a dealer and not buying direct, worry no more. i wouldnt want any1 else to sell me these subs, great guy. and BOSS, if its convenient for you could i get the tracking number to my new subs if you have it? id appreciate it alot, i want to watch as they get closer and closer to being at my door lol. i cant wait! thanks alot! email is [email protected]
  20. 1.5 cubes tuned to 32 Hz 2 cubes tuned to 28 Hz ^thats from SIs website. buttttttt, even if you did 1.5 each tuned to 32hz... that would be 3 cuft NET. now if you did that, and tuned it to 32hz with 48sqinches or port area with a slot port, your port displacement would be 1.134... cuft. so the gross (not counting wood) would be 4.284 for the smallest ported enclosure you should go with tuned to 32hz. (3+1.134+.15) would could make it a little smaller with less port area, but id like 48sq inches or more if they were mine... btw incase your interested. a 3cuft net box with a 12x4 port would need to be 34.39 inches long for a 32hz tune. with only 3.5 max gross volume you have, id do sealed. how small is your trunk? withfiberglass you can form it to the shape of your trunk and you should be able to get alot of volume.... im doing a fiberglass install on a clk320 convertible. the trunk is so tiny. but i fit a 1.3 NET cuft enclosure and an amp rack in there and im also going to have a wiring display. and your trunk has to be larger than the clk significantly.
  21. 3.5 cubic feet or w.e. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i know but do you mean 3.5 cubic feet after sub and port displacement? because for 2 12s 3.5 GROSS (before sub and port displacement) is not enough.
  22. yeah id try to make it as big as possible. you mean 3.5 NET right?
  23. damnn you must have the worst skin for sun in the world. are you like 200 percent irish? lol i forget what size woofer you have. if its 15 then its suposed to be 3.5 28 hz.
  24. awesome guys. dont forget the baby powder denim lol. and not all the paramaters are on the site, i did take the time to look lol. not that lazy. maybe i dont need to put in all of them... i dont even know what some of them mean. winISD asks for like 30 different things lol.
  25. very nice man. one word though about your straight lines.... cutting edge! lol. its so simple. just pick one up at home depot. nice work with the grill too. cant wait to install my mags
