Tinting Taillight's And Headlights
Ok guys, I'm just looking for suggestions on tinting my taillights and headlights. I have an 08 Ford Escape and looking for a smoked or dark black look, but I want my brake lights to be decently visible. I'm wondering if you guys recommend any brands for pre-cut tints for head and tail lights. Or if you guys recommend any other ways to tint my lights, i'm open for it. Thanks and any suggestions are appreciated!

I can confirm gmc's notion, buddy of mine is running the same type-r componets and pdx 100.4 and it's great quality and can be blaring loud if you'd like!

Electrical For A FI BTL
Running at 1 Ohm, no bass boost, gain 1/2 maybe a little less

Electrical For A FI BTL
Ok guys just wondering what you would recommend me I can do on my current electrical. Currently I have an 18 Fi Bl d2 running with a sundown Saz-1500d. My electical consists of the big three being done in 1/0 gauge and an optima yellow top up front with around 1000 ca and a newer Ford 700ca battery in back. I am just looking for a setup to get lower and louder than the BL can. The Bl is in a 7.3ish cu ft book tuned at like 31-32 hz. Currently my headlights lights have almost no dimming whatsoever so I know I have a decent electrical. My budgets right around 800. So I'm looking into selling the BL on here and getting the BTL. I'd probably end up building a new box for the BTL and tune around 28-30 hz. But for an amp, do you think I could run an Aq 2200d at 1 ohm sufficiently with my electrical? Thanks for the suggestions and any input.

System Noise?
Had a very similar problem, such a stupid thing, but make sure your remote turn on isn't ran on the same side as the power wire, that's what happened in my car, second I reran the remote turn on the thumping was gone

Electrical Question
I have a 150 amp fuse up front in a Knukonceptz fuse holder, could that 150 amp cause any problems?

Electrical Question
Ok guys I thought my sae-1200 v.2 was screwed when I wasn't getting any output from it at all and it was randomly going into protect mode. I decided to check my connections and behold they were really loose, including the speaker wire on the verge of falling out of the terminal on the back of my box. I redid both of my speaker terminals inside the box and now my amp is not going into protect mode whatsoever. But when I turn the volume up to a decent level it just cuts out but it isn't going into protect mode. When i turn the volume down it comes back on. So I'm almost positive it's low voltage. I'm going to be completing the big three and putting an optima yellow top up front and I'm hoping this will solve my voltage issues. All the gains are set properly on the amp and there is minimal to no clipping going on. This is in a 09 ford escape with stock alt and stock batt, with 1/3 big three done. Thanks for suggestions in advance guys, Nick

SAE-1200D.V2 Help
Trying to see if I can get a response from Jacob from Sundown on here about sending my amp in for repair. i believe its pretty much screwed due to low voltage. It was ran off stock alt and stock batt with 1/0 ga ran and 1/3 big three done. i'm hoping to send it in and put a optima or kinetik up front and do the big three. but i cant get a response from jacob ive emailed a few times over the last two days to no avail but I know hes busy. Thanks, Nick

Battery/Alternator Suggestions
Ok guys I'm looking for some advice towards the two topics as stated in the title. I'm running a sundown Sae-1200d and an FI bl 18". Currently stock alt , stock batt, all 1/0 ga wire and batt neg to chassis ground in 1/0. I'm initially looking to put a new battery up front or (possibly in the back) but the new batt would be running of the stock alt for while whether it be in the trunk with the stock batt up front or the new batt up front solo. I'm looking to save some $ up and get a new ho alternator in later on. Right now I'm looking at the kinetik hc1800 which does 1150 cca and fits my budget of being under $250. This battery will also fit up front under my hood as well. I've already done 1/3 of the big 3 so just swapping out batteries wouldn't be a problem there, then i''m looking to finish the big 3 obviously. So i'd like to get your guys opinions and advice on that. Also I'm looking for a ho alt for a 2008 ford escape 2.3l 4 cyl as well under $500 if possible, i've not been able to find any for my car. I'm preferably looking for a cheap price and good performance if possible... thanks guys for the help I appreciate it. Nick

Newbie Electrical Help
Yes amp is being ran at full potential

Ok I'll look into getting a dmm then, i mean its most likely a low voltage problem if not a bad ground then.

Newbie Electrical Help
If voltage is my problem I'm just gonna pick up a kinetik hc800 online and sit it in my trunk, i have a huge space under the floor perfect for a batt. This particular battery does 750 ca so i believe it should be enough

Newbie Electrical Help
I believe the stock alt is 150 amps and i'm not sure of the ca for my stock battery. the gains were set by ear but it was set by someone installing car audio systems for years. (He's out of town or i'd ask him for help btw) So my head unit is only a year old p410ub model but i'll look into that. I'm positive my gains aren't the issue. There is a fair amount of dimming at night with my headiights, i'd say its as much if not less than when i ran a crunch p.1500 around 750 rms.

Newbie Electrical Help
Ok guys I recently put in an 18" fi bl with a Sundown Sae-1200dv2 into a 2009 ford escape. The box is around 7 cubes tuned to 32 hertz. Amp is being ran at 1 ohm. All power and ground wire is being ran in 1/0 Knu. Under the hood i have only upgraded my battery negative to chassis ground power wire to 1/0 ga. Everything is properly installed wiring wise, I'm having a problem with the amp going into protection mode when playing music higher volumes. The bass boost is all the way down on the amp and the gain is set to 1/2 and everything else was set by a buddy of mine more experienced with car audio. What happens is when i have the gain on my knob turned up to about 3/4 maybe a little less, and crank up the volume to around 50/62(pioneer premier headunit) i'm not having really any problems with the amp, but once that gain knob goes over about 3/4 of the way to max with the volume up as previously stated, the amp kicks right into protection mode. Which then i turn town the volume and it comes right out of protection mode. So I'm wondering if this is most likely a low voltage problem causing this as i don't have a voltage meter installed to visually see what I'm getting. I have a stock alt and stock battery and like i said earlier all 1/0. So just looking to get some input from you guys. i also tried to read up on similar topics and i can assure you guys all my wiring and impedance issues are correct and my amp's ground is to a bolt scraped to the chassis metal. I'm not really sure what the problem is so thanks for any help guys i really appreciate it. Nick

New System Electrical upgrade Question
Ok guys new to the forums i'm looking for some advice on my upcoming electrical situation. I'm going to be ordering the new FI Q 18" with the cooling or bp option when it comes out. I have decided to go with the Sundown Sae-1200d also. The q will be in a 6-10 cf ported box. The car I'm putting the system into is a 2009 Ford Escape. So far everything in the car is stock electrical wise. I have ordered a knukonceptz 1/0 gauge amp kit and around 20 feet more of 1/0 gauge to do the big three. So after the big three and 1/0 gauge wiring i'm curious as to what you guys think i should do electrically with 1200 watts of power, to get the best out of my system. My budget is only around $150-200 for any more electrical upgrades so i do realize that I won' be able to do much more. So thanks for the advice in advance guys, Nick
