The building of the custom guage cluster has begun. We made some good progress tonight and here are a few pics of the results. Decided on using a black plexi panel as the mounting surface for the guages. By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 Cutting plexi is a slow process, but it went fairly well. By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 Holes cut for the outer gauges. By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 All the mounting holes cut and the plate attatched to the backing bracket that will mount the guage cluster in the original location in the truck. By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 Mounting of the guages... By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 Cluster ready for some wiring and we have decided to incorporate some LEDS into the face of the cluster for turn signals, high beams, and parking brake. By grasshoper at 2010-11-08 Lots of wiring for us to do over the next few days and awaiting the LEDs to show. Stay tuned for more...

This is the only link in the forum that I found that referenced the Liquid types of deadener: Possibly we could get some feedback from some others on this type of product.

Dash is out and the modding wheels are turning. Have to fit the Autometer package in the factory spot, but should not be a problem. Here are some pics. By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 At 205197 the old 4.3 did a good job. Now it's time to turn back the odometer to 0 and have a little more power!! By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 Our project this week is to take this space below and fit the Autometer package into it. By grasshoper at 2010-11-05 These are the guages going in the above space. By grasshoper at 2010-11-07- sefugi schools grasshoper
Me too, I'd love to hear that Yukon!!- Big 3 Help
Check out this thread, I beleive page 6 has a few picks that may help:- sefugi schools grasshoper
Yes the ECM is long forgoten...all circuits previously powered by ECM are now stand-alone. We have not started testing on all the circuits as of yet but will just shortly. Don't forsee any problems but with all the things that have been changed we know we will have to check everything completely to verify. Yes we are doing a complete Autometer gauge package. Have some pics of the start of this just trying to get Imageshack to cooperate. Grasshopper is working on getting a new plate to incorperate the guages into that can be modded into the dash. Hopefully we can get this under control by the end of this week. '72 Blazer would be a really cool project!!!- SSA visiting SEMA! {Now with pictures}
Great pics guys!!!! Thanks!!- sefugi schools grasshoper
Thanks!!! To many circuits controlled by the computer to list: MAP, TPS, temp for comp., factory trans speed, neutral safety switch, 02 sensors(4X), all the fuel injection circuits, etc. As far as relays we needed a relay for the fuel pump since it was origanally turned on by the computer. Second we needed a relay to turn the positive A/C signal into a negative signal to trigger the factory relay for A/C clutch I thought it would be a good idea to use relays to trigger the new fan control module power and the carb. choke coil. That makes the 4 now mounted on the firewall.- 95 Eclipse Father/Son Project
I agree x2. Awesome build, I'm going to use the perfection here and transfer it to my 04 cavvy. And hopefully do some sort of father/son project won't be near as nice because neither of us have any experience doing installs, but I am going to gleen as much knowledge from the ssa forums and people like you to help with my build. Thanks for all the great detail, time, and elbow greese! Thanks so much for the kudos!!! I think it's great you & your Dad want to do a build together, just try your best to lay out a plan and then execute with patience. You guys are not that far a away from us, if you need some type of help let us know maybe we can get together. Yeah, sure I'd love to meet-up and see some nicer builds. I've never been able to see an actual system installed and it'd be great to see yours. My build wont be near as nice as your's but I would like a 1/2 decent build. Something to take with me to college and pop the trunk and not be ashamed. Shoot me a PM and we can sort out a time, gonna be tight for me between now and Christmas, family stuff and all. We can make something happen though!!!- sefugi schools grasshoper
We feel that it has turned out well so far, of course it's easy to say that when we havn't put any power to it yet, that will be the real test along with checking each of the circuits. Yes having the different branches of the harness in the right spot was a challenging part of the harness. Grasshopper made sure my electrical supplies were well stocked going into this project. He has commented on the fact of having the right supplies and tools available can make or break you on an install.I Strain reliefs, must have had a senior moment, I do remember that tip in your thread.- First Post, Possible Setup
