Ok thanks for the input guys I will re do my gains and go from there it has the clipping light on the bass knob and it is far from lighting up as clipped and sorry the first post was suppose to read no distortion.

To manzkea no not really this was my first box design for it and wanted to try out a low tune and see how I liked it. It's hard to compare as I went from a 12" btl in a sunfire to a 15 in a small suv so far it has really good response to range of songs but definatly thinking of going back up to 34-35hz my last temporary sub I had in there was a 12" Rockford p3 and 500w prime and 2.35 ft3 box tuned to 35hz and loved it. And to Billy jack yes sorry forgot to add no the cone after 45 mins of playing was still cool to touch and amp was Luke warm nothing out of ordinary just had a wierd smell that I've never come across before but yes I've definatly been watching what I'm doing and when I do smell it turn my gain knob all the way down for about half hour then bring it back up for a while. I also forgot this is in a ford escape so could be more noticable for if it is the glues and oils on the cone burning off from assembly

Hey just seeing if anyone here has a little more experience here is my information on the set up have a 280amp alternator and good optima yellow top two runs of 1/0 and good grounds running a sundown zv5 15 d1 at 2 ohms on a svc6000 sundown amp. Have the sub sonic set to aproximate 30hz the box tuned to 32hz and low pass set to aproximate 75hz it is built to recommended specs 4.5 cubes after displacment and 68 cubic inches of Port have the gain set between 1/4 and 1/2 gain to take it easy for the first bit of playing and found its pushing but now distorted voltage drop is only 13.6 v lowest and find after a while has slight hot/wood smell the sub is just new and has about 2 hours of play time just seeing if anyone has noticed any same things on new higher power subs while breaking in for the first while this is only my second high power system fist was a sundown 2500 and fi btl v2 and never had a smell from it while breaking in.

just picked up two 8" re subs for the back deck were the 6x9's were in a sealed box just to see how that will sound

hey i have a question i have a btl 12" wit only the cooling option and i'm wondering if i get a recone kit for it can i get the hi xmax coil of did i have to choose that to begin with

yea the btl is beautiful but i had to upgrade my components to hear them again lol

cant wait to finish off the drivers door so far all the hard work is paying off it looks great so far lol oh and just got my sax 100.4 last week cant wait to get these bravox audio's in with that amp

JVC KD-A815 CD Player got it from vissions about 2 monthes ago installed my self and never had a problem till now

but it doesn't just happen on big bass note somtime does it when there is little to no bass and lasts a bit and goes back to normal randomly and i haven't changed any settings on the deck or amp

voltage stays at 14.3 and on heavy bass drops to 13.2-13.0v and i checked all the wires going into the amp they are all secured tightly and clear of anything

hey i have a problem that i cannot figure out my btl will run loud like it should but sometimes in mid beat it's like some one turned the dimmer switch down half way ?? i checked my preouts they range from .5 to 4.6 when bumping hard but as var as voltage being put out to the sub at full tilt it's only registering 20-26 at the most i an running a btl 12" duel 2 ohm wired to 1 ohm on a saz 2000d now should the volts match to somewheres around 44v at full tilt or i'm i doing somthing wrong while mesuring the volts for the out put i put the positive on the red and negative on the black for the speaker outputs right? could i be a loose conection in the box causing one voice coil to cut out making this affect of not as much bass ? i'm hoping it's not the amp i also checked the ohms and when there is no music playing the ohms are fine but when it starts bumping harder the ohms jump around witch i assume is normal independance rise

thinking of 2 fi x's 10" on a alpine vpower 500.1 amp witch is stable at 2 ohms so it would be 2 single 4 ohm subs looking for sound quality over spl would these subs sound better than going with just 1 12" fi x ? will be in recomended sealed boxes from fi's website

it's for a saz2000d and sax 100.4 amp saz it run at 1ohm and i have the big 3 in 1/0awg and a 200amp alternator i am looking at the deka intimidator b/c of the price difference it's 188.00 the battery i'm looking at

the last coat of black went on tonight after the wet sand and looks like glass i love how it turned out giving it a few days to fully cure then onto the metalic gold
