The shortest complete sentence in the English language
Out of nowhere Teampapi79 comes and calls out an answer already called. Sorry. By the way, love the avatar. I catch myself doing the same facial expression every time I see it. Lol. Haha I took that one the morning after a long wedding. I. Already stated, but its not a complete sentence without punctuation. And I didn't read the whole thread just scrolled down to reply.

db electrical a joke!
My stock alt did that when it went out. Static battery was 12.6. With car on the battery read 11.7 and so did the alt? lol

Got a noise citation :(
I think the noise ordinance should apply to everything and not just music. I'm so tired of listening to loud ass trucks with straight pipes and Harley's. Those people don't get pulled over so why should we? I have never gotten popped for my systems but I normal have the bass way down and don't bump at night or in neighborhoods. Rarely do I go full tilt. That and I am friends with a few of the cops here and 2 of them have systems themselves.

db electrical a joke!
Had the same problem. Mine was putting out 12.8 volts at idle. Sent it back and they put a tiny pulley on it and said it was functioning fine now. Put it back in with a smaller belt and now I am at 13.3 volts at idle.v Never going to get anything from them again and they won't give me a refund.

Fi Hoody Review
I would get one, but I never buy clothes online. Sizing for me is WAY to hard. Super small frame like my mom with dad's height. So I'm 6'6" tall and weigh 160lbs. So i need med width and xl length. Hard to find that size. Pants are even worse! lol If I just go XL it looks like I'm swimming in the damn thing.

You're intelligent. Make a post on a public forum about how small your cock is. Jeez! If 18" is small I might as well myself now!

Input Sensitivity switch question
Answer I received is leaving it on the .1-2 volt switch is fine. That the head unit isn't putting out a true 4 volts. Which I am going to verify tomorrow with a dmm

Input Sensitivity switch question
Ok, I got my new replacement amp back finally. Amp has a sensitivity switch between .1-2 volts and 2-8 volts. My new headunit has 4 volt preouts. When I try to set the gains using the 2-8 volt setting I max the gain and never reach 40 volts (1600 rms). I get around 12 volts on the dmm. When I switch it to the .1-2 volt setting gain goes about 1/3 of the way up and hits 40 volts. Will I damage the amp if I just leave it at the .1-2 volt switch position? And any idea's on why if I have 4 volt preouts I can't reach 40 volts on the 2-8 volt setting? Right now everything is hooked up but I have the amp off on the headunit. Waited 3 weeks to get the new amp back so I am really needing to violate my persons with some violent bass! Its a Kenwood KDC-X794 headunit and a Soundstream Rub1.1600d amp. My old headunit before the amp blew had 2 volt outs so I didn't ever think about it. Any help is much appreciated. I tried to google it but didn't come up with anything. Maybe I was just wording it wrong though.

CLIPPING!!
Don't let your friend touch your stuff anymore for one! I'm a newbie for the most part too and I already can tell they your friend has no clue about what he/she is doing. Its not loud when you turn it down because those were the settings used when setting the gain. Zero everything out on the head unit and start over. Follow this tutorial and just do it yourself. Its super easy and the more you do yourself the more you'll learn. It's your equipment so learning how to set everything properly will also help trouble shooting when issue's like this arise. If possible and the best solution, have a shop set your gains with a scope so everything is spot on. Secondly, I'm running 1600 watt rms on 0 gauge wiring all around ( Power & Big 3) with an optima yellow top and a 250 amp alt and I have voltages issue's on peak notes. So you might wanna beef up your electrical some more.

im new to car audio and need some help
Kinda late to be asking after you've already ordered it don't you think? 1. That amp will be fine. subs rms is 2000 watts and that amp does 1700 @ 2ohms. So if using a DMM you want 58.30 volts. 2. What electrical upgrades have you done to back this amp? 3. Not sure what fits in an impala as I have no experience with one.

AHH WTF
Yup, but some of use don't have $5-600 for an alt though. I went budget because mine is a daily driver and I don't ever compete. Nor do I run it at full tilt all the time. I'm usually at volume 10 when it maxes at 27. I just like having the option to get loud on rare occasions. lol One day I'll get a good alt. Hope they work everything out for you though Memphis!

AHH WTF
I just sent the alt I got from them back. It was only running at 12.8v at idle on the battery. 14.6 after 1200 rmps. Battery sits at 12.7 volts with the car off. Told me a slew of things to try, none worked of course. So I sent it back for them to trouble shoot. Told them either refund, or a fully tested unit before it ships back. So now I am waiting for them to get it and decided on what they are going to do.

06' RE Audio XXX 18s or Soundstream XXX-18s?
I'm for the Re XXX's too. I had 2 18's in my old Explorer and they were loud as hell and sounded great

Projectors - diy photographer screen vs Goo paint
That's what I was thinking. Except I picture a sweet wood frame painted black and set off the wall about a 1/8". Then you could mount the roll above and pull through and cut. You can get super white paper rolls for next to nothing from B&H. Are you looking to do flat a screen or with a curve? Super White Paper I have used these rolls before for portrait work. Durable and very white. I did find this article on DIY paper screens and some of the pro's and cons. DIY Screens

Are Fi Subs easy to blow?
Fi Subs are so bad ass my 2-12's blew my amp! The ssd's were mean muggin my amp cause he wasn't putting out like he should. Long story short the amp shit itself on the output board trying to pleasure the 12's. Its was a sad day! New amp will be here is a couple of weeks though. Hope this one puts out like he is supposed to!

my subs sound like poo
Yes! Dump that Jensen! I just pulled mine and installed my new Kenwood today. To bad my amp took a shit right after. Even without the subs the sound quality is much better.

Amp issue
Thanks! Sent them a service ticket to see if they would try and fix it! Man this sucks! Yet again, there goes my money I've been saving for my front stage! What can you do though right!

Amp issue
Checking about the warranty but I doubt it. I'm sure they will say user error. And I am not sure who db-r is? I tried searching for that user name and came up blank.

Amp issue
Made a video to show everyone whats its doing. The amp has been hooked up and running fine for a couple weeks now. Out of no where the amp starts cutting in and out today. When it does, it goes into protect mode. I checked every wire from the battery back and all are good. I even pulled the headunit and checked all connections there too. So here is what happens: Amp cutting in and out while I was running errands today. So I turned the radio off until I go home. When I got home I pulled out all my tools and DMM and checked everything. All is well. But now, the amp is on, not in protect mode, and I get zero output to the subs. Yes, I checked the subs wiring too. I noticed when I lightly tap on the amps case it goes into protect mode. So I pulled the amp out and opened the case thinking maybe a loose wire. Nope. No wires at all, everything goes straight to the board. Everything looked fine to me too. I didn't see anything bent or broken. Hooked it back up and its still doing the same thing. Finally, as you will see in the video, after a few firmer taps it stays in protect mode and pushes out little power surges to the subs making them move just a hair. You should be able to hear that in the video. If you look when it goes and stays in protect mode near the end you can see a little spark shoot out near the speaker wires at 2:27. There were no loose wire strands sticking out at all to cause a short. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=opTmJhHKQ70
