Yes a properly built ported enclosure will have accurate and crisp sound. If you do choose the SSA DCON, build a ported box for it. They work amazing in a ported enclosure. For tuning I would aim for 33-37hz.

What about your current system are you not satisfied with? Are you looking for more output? What is your budget?

Thanks Stefan. I tried a few different layouts for the amplifiers. Due to lack of trunk space I came up with this one. I wanted to do something more like yours but it wouldn't work. If I had the chance to redo it I would make the plexi piece bigger. I don't think it shows off enough of the amplifiers currently. With the top installed:
