  1. Exactly. That's the problem: we don't have the empirical data to know one way or the other. The only reason I object to Global Warming Alarmists (like Gore) is that they have a very vested interest in what they're saying. Gore flies all across the world in his personal luxury airplane and gets paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to talk about something he is incapable of proving. Expecting him to be even remotely objective is ludicrous. And somehow it's ok because he buys carbon credits...give me a fucking break.
  2. double post
  3. You've got the right idea as far as enclosures go. You can go larger and tune lower if you want, but 2.5 tuned to 30 Hz is a decent music box. You can go sealed ~1.25-1.5 cubes as well if you want, but you'll probably enjoy the ported enclosure more.
  4. "Would a lawsuit against Al Gore help the public determine fact from fiction?" No, because there is not even close to a consensus on what is fact and what is fiction in the scientific community. I think both human impact and cyclical weather patterns are equally plausible and any attempt to write off either at this stage in the game is fool-hardy.
  5. One thing that really bothers me is the complete lack of experience on the left. One has a been a senator for 4 years and a state senator for another 4. And the other has been a senator for only 8 years. Not quite president material if you ask me. Oh, but Hillary has 35 years of experience, don't you know? The Obama campaing should have called her on that a long time ago. But now people actually believe that Hillary has this vast amount of experience that is simply non-existent.
  6. McCain winning is something significant. I mean....conservatives have been complaining that McCain isn't conservative enough...but when the general election comes around, they're obviously going to vote for McCain over Obama or Clinton. And honestly, I don't agree with many of McCain's ideologies, but oddly enough...I trust him more than I trust Obama or Clinton. And this Democratic race is nothing but bad for the Democrats. Not only does it show that the Democratic base is split on a leader, it makes the Democrats fundraise and spend before the general election comes; even worse, they need to prove one is better than the other, and the in-party attacks are not good. Obama needs to figure out a way to attack Hillary without attacking Hillary (because he's committed to being a "different" politician). Oh, and Obama and Clinton have worse pasts than McCain. Should make for an interesting next year.
  7. Yeah, not particularly productive over here although I should have been. Story of this semester so far.
  8. Genesis FTW. So much better with Collins...and he was so much better with them. A mutually symbiotic relationship if I've ever seen one.
  9. You're so money and you don't even know it.
  10. I kept the 3 cube sealed one and 5 cubes tuned to 20 Hz for a while, switching it periodically. The Icon has gone unused since I got the Audiopulse drivers because I either needed to listen to those or preferred to hook up the LMS-Ultra. Everything is disconnected now. We'll see what comes next. Still like the Icon, though.
  11. I didn't get much done today, either. Time to eat and then do homework after that.
  12. Ahoy, Scott.
  13. My favourite episode of hers is on right now. Not beecause I care much about the fish she's doing, but the shirt combo is smoking....
  14. Giada boobs....yum.
  15. That is a damn nice grill...with a rotisserie, no less.
  16. HD457's? Close, anyways.
  17. Based on the blind followers who know very little about Obama, there is a very large number of young, weak minded sheep in in this country, so the research you mention is interesting. You can be a young, weak-minded sheep and still move away from religion. As someone who very frequently discusses religion, I can tell you there are a very large number of uninformed, young atheists who have no idea why theism has failed them and can't provide a convincing supportive argument for atheism other than evolution or the series of misnomers in the Bible. It's a youth movement thing and, like most of them, it is coming from largely uninformed people who think they know a lot. I like to think I'm an exception. But as a realist, I understand that you will always be wiser as you age and, thus, thinking you have answers to big questions in life when you're under at least 50 seems a bit naive.
  18. Sounds like things are starting to catch up with Obama today. We'll see what the votes have to say at the end of the day.
  19. There is no separation of church and state now. But recent research suggests that a larger % of the population is moving away from religion altogether in the US; a separation may be possible, if any church still exists at the time.
  20. Tempted to get that Ultra-Deluxe edition. Not even because I'm a big NIN fan (although I like their music) or because I necessarily need everything included, but because: a) It is almost worth it to support this business model. b) It could probably be resold a few months down the road on eBay for a decent price.
  21. HoP Killer! HoP Killer! Tea and time for bed. Do more Calculus in the morning.
  22. Ghosts I-IV
  23. Has Wikipedia been slower than dog shit for everyone else lately?
  24. Don't usually care for this stuff, but I found this oddly inspiring. edit:
  25. I like the new NIN album.
