You should like the Q's a lot better than the P3's in every respect.

Welcome to the IHoP
In the house, it's more durable than vinyl. I'll give you that. But I enjoy vinyl for it's sonic qualities (whether they really exist or not) and the feel-good nostalgia you get. When I'm on the move, I'd rather carry music in digital form because I can store way, way more music for a given footprint. It's not that I necessarily have anything against CD's: I think for 99% of the people who listen to music, it's a tremendous format; we were lucky to stumble upon it. It just doesn't hold much value for me personally.

Welcome to the IHoP
I replaced the important stuff with vinyl and have the rest as digital. I don't particularly care for the compact disc, to be honest.

Welcome to the IHoP
Nick: Hope things are well. Ramos: Pictures........now Beat_Dominator: I got rid of my album collection about 5 years ago. I still have it all digitally, thank goodness. Scott: Not sure what you guys have for music stuff up there, but there should be lots of used places where you can get stuff really cheap. eBay is a good option as well, especially if you buy a bunch from the same seller. My hands are really aching from too much typing and I'm not sure I'll get much of a reprieve this weekend.

Thoughts on a dashboard material...
Definitely. I actually have a dash in my truck right now that I glassed and painted, but it won't work too well for SQ competitions. Thanks to all who have contributed ideas so far.

Welcome to the IHoP
I hate cats. Give me a dog any day of the week, but none of those little bitchy dogs: I like a dog that could kill me if it wanted to, but enjoys playing games instead.

Thoughts on a dashboard material...
Interior is kind of a greyish tan colour, but I intend to re-do it to match whatever colour(s) I end up going with on the dash. It's going to be dark colour, no matter what.

Boxes : 12" Havoc
Without even modelling things up, you can make pretty good guesses based on what most 12" drivers work best in. Expect .8-1.5 sealed and 1.8-2.5 ported, tuned 28-33 Hz. Something along those lines. As far as port size goes, go with 12-16 square inches per cubic foot, so if you do 2.5 cubes ported tuned to 30 Hz (a very good starting point), you should have at least 30 square inches of port area. I don't have the time to calculate port length from there, but it's pretty easy to do so.

SSA ICON 15" reveiw.
Glad you're liking it. Imagine what will happen when you put them in a more suitable enclosure that won't limit output.

New XBL^2 Manufacturers
An NDA is a Non-Disclosure Agreement. It's quite typical that an OEM agrees to not discuss any specifics of their agreement with their clients. As for what Circuit City brands have XBL^2, I couldn't tell you, and I'm not totally sure how factual that is. If you have a few thousand dollars, let's go down there together and we'll cut some motors open.

Thoughts on a dashboard material...
Haha. These are definitely considerations I had made, but I was hoping someone would surprise me with a cheap, viable, and attractive solution that no one had ever heard of. Dream a little dream.

Thoughts on a dashboard material...
My dash is pretty much completed. It's built to be very flat from a-pillar to a-pillar with no erratic or uncontrollable reflections. I have some ensolite ready to apply but need to consider an aesthetically pleasing way of covering it. I have considered a few different materials.... Vinyl - I would love to wrap it in vinyl, but that would do nothing as far as taming reflections. Suede - Not bad for managing reflections and certain kinds are permeable, but good suede is expensive and looks like crap as soon as it's touched. Tweed - Permeable and manages reflections well, but ugly as all sin, in my opinion. Any thoughts on a good covering material?
